When taking the monorail, be sure to hop on the express instead to avoid stopping at every station. Another very important thing for people to know is that even if you bought your JR pass via the official JR website, you still have to stand in line to pick up your physical pass like everyone else. There is no separate express line. Also know that the JR official site forces you to set an activation date, which is very risky. People must know this.

If you happen to arrive at Haneda airport on a weekend or Japanese Holiday, there is a 500 yen combo ticket for Monorail and JR Yamanote line that you can purchase at the ticket machine near the monorail toll gate. JR Yamanote is the green circular route. WIth this combo ticket, you can take the monorail from Haneda Airport to Hamamatsu-cho station (terminus) station, easy transfer (follow the arrows on the floor) to JR trains to take you to any JR station on the Yamanote line. It isn't absolutely necessary to take the JR Yamanote train but you do need to get off at a JR station served by a JR Yamanote line. So you can take JR Keihin-Tohoku (blue) line to Tokyo Station, Akihabara Station, or Ueno Station for example.

Recently subscribed to your channel. Awesome content and hopefully you can answer some of my questions: 1. My family of 7 will be arriving in Japan Haneda AIrport on December 22, 2023 and we like your bus idea. If we are staying in No.366 APA Hotel Asakusa Shin Okachimachi Ekimae, will the bus drop us off at that location or will it drop us off at a centralized location and then we have to transfer to our hotel? Avoiding train due to luggages and transfers. 2. Where would you recommend my family visiting during Christmas to celebrate, we enjoy going to places where people congregate to celebrate 3. If we decide to get either the passmo or suica card, can we use these card to pass through or do we still need to purchase train tickets using the passmo or suica card? 4. How late does the train operates if we have a morning flight of 2AM from Haneda Thank you again for answering our questions and if you have any suggestions it would surely be appreciated.

Pretty sure that 97% or more will probably go to the Keikyu line or Monorail but for me my situation is different. This will be my third time that I will be coming to Japan. Will be arriving in November. I have a connecting flight to Fukuoka at Haneda Terminal 2. I am pretty sure that I would need to take the free shuttle bus to Terminal 2 and then get off and go to the ANA counter and they would take care of me there. I have approximately 2 1/2 hours after I land (thats if I land on time) to get to my gate.. Wish me luck.
@emikami1 Жыл бұрын
Right now, they suspended the dedicated ANA buses that transfer their passengers between terminals so you must exit customs before transferring to terminal 2. At Haneda, after getting through immigration process (the yellow QR code in Visit Web Japan) and finger print scan, find a kiosk for Customs Declaration near the far ends of the baggage claim just before the exits (scan your passport, light blue QR code and get your picture taken), then pick up your checked luggage. It's faster in this sequence because it takes about 30 minutes for baggage to arrive after the plane stops but this trick only works at Haneda and not at Narita. You then walk out the automated gate which scans your face and if everything goes well, you should not need to stop by a customs agent. In normal hours, you can drop off your luggage at ANA's domestic transfer counter in terminal 3. If your flight is unusually early (like before 5 AM), that counter may not be open in which case you must take your luggage with you to terminal 2. Consider picking up a free monorail ticket for terminal transfer by showing your boarding pass at the information desk. Once you're at the monorail gate, look for a mechanical bell next to the payment gate on the left to call for the attendant to show your monorail ticket. It's a little faster, less crowded, and has more frequent service than the free bus. Only downside is that the information desk might be busy. In that case you can use the free bus or just pay 200 yen to ride monorail instead of waiting in line for a free ticket. If you still have your luggage, drop it off at the manned counter near security gate D dedicated for international to domestic transfer. Then go through domestic security and find your departure gate. Return trip might let you use Face Express if you are flying back on ANA or JAL. You scan your passport and boarding pass and take your picture at a kiosk at Haneda or Narita. From that point, you don't need to show your passport or boarding pass to pass through security or to board the plane (your facial scan is all it takes). Face Express has a dedicated line that is much shorter than normal security line. But from domestic to international connection, I'm not sure if you are able to use Face Express, so maybe it is best to call them ahead of time to see what the process might be. You can get the free monorail terminal transfer ticket in reverse (terminal 2 to terminal 3) as well. If you don't have a smart phone that roams in Japan, make sure to take screen shots of the QR codes in Visit Web Japan before arriving in Japan. Free WiFi service is available but if 1000 people try to connect at once in the immigration/customs area, it may not work that well.
@ReiwaMagi Жыл бұрын
@@emikami1 oh wow thanks for all this information! My flight lands in the afternoon at Haneda airport so I should be able to take advantage of the international to Domestic transfer (I will have one checked luggage). Going back though will be just going through Haneda like normal. My trip starts in Fukuoka but I am going to be going eastward slowly through several cities/towns and ending in Tokyo. Re vjw I have the QR codes already screenshotted plus I have a jp sim on my phone as well but I only use it for small data use and sms

The monorail from T3 to Hamamatsucho (the last stop) is ¥520. Then you’ll have to change to another line to get to your final destination. Most limousine buses are ¥1,000+, depending on your final destination. They both have advantages and disadvantages.

It depends if you plan to stick together everywhere you go. If not, you may want to consider multiple pocket WiFi routers or a couple eSIMs. Contact your cell phone provider to make sure your phone is capable of using eSIM before purchasing. However, if your phone can connect to WiFi at home, then it’ll connect to the pocket WiFi router.

Where can i get a Welcome Suica card? I also have a Pasmo card from a previous trip, which i assume i can still use by adding more monet to it. Where at Haneda Terminal 3 can i do this?
@darthdiddums845 Жыл бұрын
Could you also indicate where the Suica and/or Pasmo machines are at Terminal 3...are they near the ticketing machines for the monorail/trains? And, at what time does the bank close for money exchanging? I'll be arriving at 8:00PM on a Sunday at Haneda this October. Thank you so much...this video was a fabulous guide for we newbies to Japan 😊
@JapanandMoreTours Жыл бұрын
The easiest thing to do is order your Suica card online, before you go to Japan. Or you can get them at any JR ticket machine. The JR east office has them also, but they close at 8:00 pm. You can just get a ¥500 monorail ticket to get you into town and buy one from the JR machines at Hamamatsuch station. The machines change languages and are very clear and easy to understand. As for the bank, I’ve never been at the airport past eight. According to the airport info (tokyo-haneda.com/en/floor/terminal3/2nd_floor.html) it is open 24 hours. Should it be closed, the 7Bank ATMs are right next to the bank. Have a great trip.

Is there any advantage to renting pocket wifi vs. buying a data-only SIM card from Sakura? My thought process is; I can always use my phone as a mobile hotspot if anyone in my party wants to hop on and I won’t have to keep up with or return any equipment. Please let me know your thoughts.
@JapanandMoreTours Жыл бұрын
It’s your call. The pocket WiFi works just like the WiFi router in your home, except it travels with you. Everyone in your party connects to it and has internet access. No need to tether, give access, every time someone wants to look something up. Returning isn’t an issue. You just put it in the provided envelope and drop it in a post box or a post office. Or buy your own unlocked pocket WiFi router and buy a SIM card to put in it. Then you get the best of both worlds.

Just found your videos. Very informative. My questions is do the buses run24 hours or the stop at some time? Thank you for your help
@JapanandMoreTours Жыл бұрын
Bus departures stop somewhere between 9:00pm and 11:00pm depending on destinations from the airport. If your plane arrives late, you may need to take a taxi or stay at an airport hotel.

Hi we are staying at the Shiba park hotel perhaps a taxi would be the easiest?

Or you could take the Monorail to Hamamatsucho station (which the last stop - so it’s super easy) and then it’s just a 10 min walk to your hotel.

Where to catch a private car service? This was not addressed in your video.
@JapanandMoreTours9 ай бұрын
I would recommend asking the private car service where they intend to pick you up.

Thanks! This was very helpful information. BUT.....why do people keep talking about renting wifi?
@JapanandMoreTours Жыл бұрын
If your mobile phone service doesn’t have an international plan, it’s a way to stay connected while you’re out sightseeing. Japan has very limited public WiFi. The free WiFi that is available usually has a lengthy registration process and it kicks you off after you’re idle for a minute or two. Then you need to go through the registration process all over again to reconnect.

I don't know if you two are still replying to this video. I'm staying at a sister hotel of the Hotel Villa Fontaine Grand Haneda and they have free shuttle bus to and from the airport. Should I ask the hotel staff or the bus ticketing staff about it?
@JapanandMoreTours2 ай бұрын
I’m not sure to which hotel you are referring, but if it were me, I’d contact the hotel before leaving for Japan. Don’t know where you’re flying from, but jet lag makes it hard for me to think straight. So I would have an idea of where to go before departing.

My question is do I still need to purchase a pocket wi fi while in Japan eventhough I already purchase an international day pass here in USA to use as my internet while im on vacation there?
@JapanandMoreTours9 ай бұрын
No. The international pass through your provider is sufficient.
