i think something incredibly important to add to your metadata for music libraries is your ISWC code for that song so you can obtain your royalties from the PRO.

ISWC is definitely very important.

The PRO gives you an ID for each song. The ISWC is for the worldwide distribution. It's an international code.

0:39 - "....properly registered with you PRO...' I'm pretty sure that's wrong. I've only dealt with two libraries so far, but both say DON'T register with the PRO beforehand. If you register before you have a publisher, you have to enter yourself as the publisher. That means the library can't register their own publishing interest until you remove or amend the other registration, which is more work and more delay. Or they may create a duplicate registration, which is all sorts of hassle.

One note: If you have non-exclusive deals with libraries, you register the songs with yourself as the publisher. (Those non-exclusive libraries will use different titles, which is a whole other problem.)

That is up to the agreement between the musicians performing the cover, one could pay all other musicians and own the rights of the recorging, as a work for hire, but you could also share.

Yes you can but for libraries or arrangements that are non-exclusive. This means you can have it released as a record but also allow someone to use it in an ad or other sync opportunity. Many publishers will "exploit" music in their catalogs from famous artists, which is why you will here music from MC Hammer in a commercial. :)
