I'm a self taught natural braider . I know my niche and I enjoy what I do . My clients come washed and detangled; then I do my part . I'm looking for ways to improve but so far it's been teamwork with my clients and I.
@EmorettaRobinson2 жыл бұрын
You gave us tips on preparing to get your hair braided, then the adorableness that is baby Aza and then the "prepare to be sick of me." That's some quality editing. Also I always make sure that I have something to read if someone is going to be doing my hair.❤

This video is so relatable. Good to know you still moisturize your hair before you get braided up. I see some stylists asking that we don't moisturize 😲
@Lifeewithfaith2 жыл бұрын
All these tips are definitely so good to consider and I agree with making sure your ends are trimmed it will definitely help to prevent the stylist from having to spend more time than needed on detangling thank you for these helpful tips 😊

Thank you for this. I have only ever gotten crochet in my hair but always wanted to try knotless braids and I am getting this done Sunday! Growing up in a relaxed house hold, protective styles were never discussed because the relaxer did it all, but now that i'm older and on the journey to enjoy my hair in it's rawest state you really gave me the courage to step out of my comfort zone!

When I am visiting a stylist for braids I always do one slow pass with a flat iron after my blow dry. I do it because if I don’t by the time I get there my hair will have reverted then the stylist has to blow dry my hair again and charge me extra. So I might as well use the extra heat. To preserve the stretch I then do two low ponytails and plait the ends like with pigtails then criss cross them and pin to make a simple updo. I usually wait at least 2 days after prepping my hair before getting my braids. I have a tender scalp and doing it this way ensures little to no pain. When it’s time for my appointment my hair will have reverted to the state it’s in after a really good blow dry session. Parting is a breeze and when the stylist combs each small section before braiding the comb just glides through easily without any snagging.

Just got some braids installed a few days ago. Soooo glad for the break. Love your braids! Great tips. The main thing is to make sure your hair is thoroughly detangled and easy to part.

Great tips! I absolutely love braids!I've been wearing braids since I was a little girl, I'm 47 now. My braider call me the braid queen. I've do all the tips except using the heat protection when I blow dry, I always use a leave in. I'll be using a heat protector from now on also.
@prettystreetchic2 жыл бұрын
These braiders don’t want you to put anything on your hair while blow drying! That’s crazy! That’s why I don’t respect them as actual stylists! Lol I definitely use a leave in and heat protectant anyway! 😂😂😂

Getting braids tomorrow for the first time in my adult life (got them once when I was 9, only lasted a day 😂). So glad I saw this video. I just got my ends clipped last week. And the salon includes shampoo/deep conditioning with their services and gives the option for them to provide the hair for an additional $15 which I don’t think is bad, b/c I got crotchets a couple months ago and I bought the hair but my stupid self left it home and had to go back and get it! 😂 And this salon will wash the hair for you. So thankfully I don’t have to worry about any of that. Y’all pray for me b/c I can deal with just about anything except a bad headache lol

I would totally show at the braid shop without the hair, smh; and I keep it in the trunk😊..lol I used to get braids faithfully but lately I've been feeling like braiders that I go to used too much braid hair for my knotless braids and it takes forever. And luckily I go to a salon that provides the hair so I don’t forget it or run out. And I love that they prep it so it doesn’t itch.
