Has anyone ever fixed a janky crawl like this? My LO's been doing it for 2 months now and I've only just realised its a problem. She's already pulling up to stand - I fear she'll be walking/cruising before I can fix it

My baby did this bc she found that moving around on her butt was a lot easier than crawling, she did crawl normally for a little and then she started doing this all the time. I thought that it was a sensory thing bc we don’t have carpet but now I’m scared she might get scolioses Definitely going to do all that you recommend! Thank you!

We’re in the same boat currently… how did your baby do?

Thanks for the video. My daughter scoots around with one leg and it’s always the same side. I’m going to try this. But my question is it normal or should I be concerned? She just started crawling like this.

Thanks for sharing! My 8 month old had been stuck in the sitting position and just today she started crawling this way. I'm super excited that she's finally crawled but should I be concerned just yet that she's hitch crawling?

That's so exciting that she is crawling! I would find 20 minutes a day if you can to try to discourage this type of crawling. Maybe crawl on piles of pillows or up stairs or pushing a box while on knees. Don't stress yourself out by doing it all day every day but movement patterns can be a habit really quickly and hard to move out of. Does that make sense?

My kid does it all the time and she has no problem. Her pediatrician said it's fine too. *shruggs* So it's not a problem for all babies.

That's great that your pediatrician says it's fine! We have found that it can be problematic for some kids because they are using their body asymmetrically so there is either underlying tightness or weakness, or it can result in these if it goes on for too long. Glad your little one is doing well!

Did your baby walk ok eventually?

Same. Baby started walking quickly so wasn't doing this type of crawl for very long anyway.
