My daughter was waitlisted for NYU. She acted like she got in. She was so excited that it wasn’t an immediate rejection that she’s totally ok with being on the waitlist. Lol. They do say that they don’t want any other info except for final grades, however, so she can’t send any other letters, other than the form they requested to show continued interest. I’m proud of how she’s handling this situation, whether she gets in or not.

I was put on a wait list for the high school that I went to. My parents called to see where I was on the wait list and I was #1, and I think the reason for that is my parents attended. I don't remember how long I was on the wait list, and I did get into the school. I was one of a handful that applied to go there from the school I attended and was the only one that got in. This was 24 years ago.

Hi Princeton Review, can you clarify something for me? It states that I may not receive an update about admission as a waitlisted student until July, but I have to officially commit to a school no later than June 1st. (Note that I have been accepted elsewhere) Are you saying that I can commit to a school that has accepted me while still maintaining the option to attend my dream school even if after the June 1st deadline? I was afraid I could not have both options, and accordingly it would be too risky to wait for the dream school to potentially move me off their waitlist when I could be guaranteed admission elsewhere.
