My dog choked on a raw bone today. It was the scariest thing. My husband tilted him forward and gave him some whacks to the back while I tried pulling it from his throat. My puppy choked at 10 weeks twice on a fish meal I did a human abdominal thrust and it worked since then our bond is Soo strong it can't eat anything before I can confirm temperature and check the meal .....that was the scariest thing I experienced......had to confirm I didn't break a rib 😊

It's not correct... Normally you lay a dog on it's side and compress on the widest part of the ribcage or do like you would on a human and always clear the airway afterwards to try and clear it

Hey! Chi’s tend to have underdeveloped trachea muscles that can cause a hacking/honking cough, a lot of people say allergy pills help with it, but we’ve yet to try them. We have three and ours randomly have “asthma attacks” that usually go away when we rub their throat and make them swallow. Hope this helps if it’s an often occurrence!
