What To Do If Your Phone Fell In WATER/SALT WATER/SOLUTIONS

In this video I show you exactly what you should do if you drop your phone in water, salt water or a solution or a solvent. It can be really stressful when these kinda things happen and you may fear losing your data, however if you follow the mentioned steps to clean your water damaged phone and act fast, hopefully everything will go fine. If you spill water on your phone and not much water has gotten in, you can usually get away with a quick dry but in most cases its best to take it to a shop or repair it yourself using rubbing alcohol...and please, avoid the rice method, that nonsense does not work.

From what ive heard youre supposed to put youre phone in water with backing soda first to counteract the salt, THEN use the following steps.

Yeah I had one of those waterproof cases and I went to the beach and I put my phone under the water bcs I was trying to take an underwater video and when I pulled it back up it was water all in it and I took it out the case and put it on the shore but I left it there and forgot about it. When we got home the lockscreen turned on but it was flickering and then it went dark and it did this at 3 times and now it's just not turning on☹️

I can't get my hands on 99% Isopropyl so I used 95% Ethyl Alcohol on mine, working great now, it is not that bad inside, so I'm hoping it will last, thanks for the advice.

My phone got salt water damaged 6 days ago while I was at the beach and I was fishing in the water, while I was fishing, a cargo ship came by and it has drew back the water and as the water was coming back in, it hit my tackle box that is in the shape o a backpack and in the side pouch was my phone, while my phone was in the side pouch, the salt water hit my phone. and got it wet and if i ever do replace every single part for ne ones, is it still not gonna work after 2 or 3 months at best?

PLEASE HELP.....IM JUST NOW SEEING THIS ABOUT SALTWATER AND CELL PHONES...I got phone wet at the beach a week ago on vacation and just got home to see why after drying...yes i used rice and a hair dryer on low... but phone keeps saying moisture in charging port. Sometimes it can go most of the day not saying it but mostly it does. I have turned it off in order to charge it then cut it back on once fully charged....which takes forever..... Now that i am home i charge it on my wireless charger. It has been working normal besides the charging issue. Question is.....is it too late to rinse it in water and place in the "do not eat " packets to dry?? I have a samsung s10 plus and I do not know how to take apart. Is 91% alcohol ok instead of the 99%??? It is time for me to upgrade but my wallet says "no its not" since tmobile has joined sprint and they changed the rules to trade ins.

Port will have to be replaced since you left it for that long..if you had rinsed it out with tap water or alcohol the day it got wet with salt water, it woulda been fine but seems like the port will need replacing..the rest of the phone will have to be checked too as the water resistance isn't always fool proof

@@Dz_jug you have to rinse you phone in reg tap water then towel dry it real good then place it in the bag of moisture packets. Just be sure to take any cases off your phone first

@@Dz_jug also I did not use any alcohol. Just rinse with tap water while phone is off, gently use use qtips for holes, place in moisture bags. I bought them off of Amazon. If you have a bunch of shoes boxes or such you can get them from there but you need at least 50packs. Seal in bag and let it do its magic for a day or two. I havent had any problems since. But I did eventually get another and I still use my old one as back up.

you have to put it in clean water to wash out the speakers and ports. That phone is water resistant so you should be fine

My phone fell in salt water I was able to get it out between 5-8 minutes I dried it off and left it in rice overnight (now I know rice is not helpful). I don't have access to the tools needed to take my phone apart and I don't have access to a shop, Is my phone just going to break, will I have to replace it?

The phone will slowly deteriorate by rust, I went siwmming with my phone and only noticed It was in my pocket 40 minutes later, it's completely dead. If the phone works I reccommend to backup all the data and if ur screen is dead try connecting through a laptop.
