What to do in Anaheim in addition to Disney!

It is a good list to have on hand. You don't have to give every dime to the Mouse. I lived in OC most of my life so I thought I'd add a couple of recommendations. Orange - Chapman: If you like the ambiance and decor of a Main Street or a Fantasyland, Chapman University has a nice little main street about 10-12 miles east of the park. It's a nice throwback to the 50's. A nice place to window shop and just take it easy. Garden Grove - Strawberry Festival: This is a season event that happens in the spring. A celebration of heritage now long gone. its a carnival with rides, games and contests. I remember it as the only place you could get strawberry funnel cake outside of Knotts. Santa Ana - Zoo at Prentice Park: I'd recommend this for groups with kids who will be impressed with a zoo or animals in general. It isn't a large zoo like San Diego or LA, but it hosts a sizable exhibit of tamarin monkeys. This a miniature train it is a good way to spend an afternoon. Anaheim - Convention Center: I know it is already recommended, but I'd also advise checking to see what is going on at the convention center. Some times you get lucky and a model railroad exhibition or AnimeExpo might be there at the same time. Some times, you draw a Bridal Expo or Hot Tub expo, but it is always worth a look. Irvine - Irvine Park: This is a bit of a ways and probably out of reach if you are using public transportation. in the range of hills 25 miles east of Disneyland lies Anaheim/Irvine Hills. Irvine Park is a large park with plenty of attractions: pony rides, miniature railroad, bikes, local zoo (local animals like mountain lions, quails, goats, etc) Just some places to chill after a day at the park. I've enjoyed the park when you can chill the following day. Disneyland bombards the senses, so a place to decompress afterward is nice.

YES! I have a "Disney Vacation" mindset when it comes to money. I'll pay $50+ for a filet mignon when I'm at Disney World, but if I see that on the menu for Cheesecake Factory, I'm like "WHAT!?! Are they Crazy?!?". LOL. Welcome and thanks for subscribing!!

Just like any city, there are good parts and there are bad parts. But I live over an hour away, so I can't speak to any specific area. However, I went to a house once in the Anaheim Hill and it was beautiful! Thanks so much!!
