Yeah Perth can get pretty quiet at times as everything closes pretty early and people are sprawled into the suburbs. Sundays are actually pretty quiet because it's people's off-day to spend time at home. Fridays and Saturdays are the busiest days of the week. For the Perth CBD, businesses generally don't open until 10 or 11. Elizabeth Quay is still under construction and due to historic zoning regulations, many parts of the CBD are devoid of residential populations but this is changing with all the residential towers being built around the city. Overall, Perth is a great place to live even if it's not the most interesting city to visit. There's definitely enough to see for a week or so.

Honestly? I wouldn’t mind going back there and just enjoy the laidback city life in Perth. I got recharged after spending eight days there. Plus, I prefer the winter season because it’s cold. 🥰
@thevannmann10 ай бұрын
@@renzybenzyIt was pretty lively over the summer here. Foot traffic was at its highest point ever with several new residential and student accommodation towers under construction or planned right now just in the CBD area. And one thing I forgot to mention in the previous comment was that the nightlife in the inner city is concentrated around the area of Northbridge just north of the… well, horseshoe bridge. 😂

As a life long Perth resident, we are all out in the suburbs enjoying the beach, our backyard barbecue parties, the pub watching football or doing our family business. But Perth stretches 140km long and thats were the 2.1 million people are 👍
@Quinctili Жыл бұрын
Perth is different to any other city. It is the longest city in the world, about 150km long, taking the title from Sochi. It has evolved so entertainment and shopping is scattered throughout precincts in various suburbs. The central city is used for work, a distribution centre, business, and large events only. BTW, Perth is 2.2 million people.

Anyone coming to Perth has to check out one of plenty big shopping malls or centres as we say here. The pick of multiple beautiful beaches from Jindalee to down in Rockingham about 2 hours drive apart from each other. Lovely coastal cafes in Hillarys marina or iconic cottosole. Try seeing Australian football at the 60,000 seat Optus stadium or the vintage style Fremantle with markets, pubs, marine time museum or the old Fremantle jail, that even has a haunted theme Friday night tour and my end up North you can visit the Aqua aquarium and after take a cruise ship to Rottnest island and see the gorgeous Quoqa animals. By all means enjoy a settling in experience weekday in Perth CBD, but Friday night is party night and if you're a couple kings park gorgeous view is very night time romantic atmosphere.

Good job my friend. As a FIFO worker, I can point out several things of interest to both yourself and subscribers to your Channel. There are probably three more outstanding facts about Perth that visitors may or may not be aware of.. . Firstly, there are no Tollways … If you visit Sydney or Melbourne, the Tollways can prove to be quite challenging if visitors are touring around in their private vehicle and unwittingly fall victim to an enforceable offence by overlooking their obligation to pay the necessary toll fee. Secondly, Police presence is not necessarily raising about raising revenue but keeping the peace as well as ensuring public safety is adhered to… The final point is the fact that apart from the Casino, there are no Poker Machines except for pub managed Bingo Vending machines which is nice to see.

Also, just to note, Perth city / downtown until recently had the smallest resident population of the main 5 cities in Australia. It overtook Adelaide about 5 or 6 years ago and is continuing to grow. The other thing is that there is no universities in the downtown area or any other educational facilities, but that is changing with a big university campus currently under construction, plus the city's first high rise high school. So I would expect that the city will become more active during the day times as things go live and as more people live in the city itself. Finally, you did go in winter. Winter time in Australia is pretty much always quiet!
@renzybenzy Жыл бұрын
Hello again! I really appreciate you taking time of sharing your insights. And yes, I saw the construction of Edith Cowan Uni near Yagan Square! Also, I love spending some time in Australia during winter. Been to Melb during winter but I didn’t expect to be THAT quiet. I still love Perth’s vibe though regardless. The locals are very kind and polite, and I have met a few Filipinos there as well.

@@skiphouston7392 I've been to Perth in the 2010s and it reminded me of Sydney in the 80s and early 90s. It was very laid back and people are very approachable. It's good to see how quickly Perth is growing. Sydney was also sleepy until the early 2000s. Now with light rail connecting the universities and talk of new metros being considered for the eastern suburbs and inner west it's seeing transformative change. Fun fact Perth is set to reach 3 million people by the 2030s and double again to between 5-6 million people by 2050. Another fun fact Sydney was barely over 3 million people in the early 80s and now 5.5 million people. It is set to reach 8 to 9 million people by the 2050s with a bulk of that population going to the western Sydney area of Parramatta and beyond. Where the new second airport and yet to be built Bradfield city will be laid.
