What to do in the City of Querétaro? Are you looking for the best things to do in Querétaro? Are you looking for hotels in Queretaro? Do you know where to eat in Querétaro?
We are traveling for a week in the Mexican Bajío. We already toured the vineyards in Querétaro with the Harvest Festival. We spent 2 great days touring San Miguel de Allende and now we are visiting the beautiful and historic City of Querétaro of almost a million and a half inhabitants, declared a World Cultural Heritage Site by UNESCO.
We started the first day with the review of the Hotel Alameda, the lodging recommendation. We toured Alameda Hidalgo before going to the Historic Center to visit the old Cloister of San Agustín, today the Querétato Art Museum (MAQRO). We walked through the streets of Querétaro to the Teatro de La República (Gran Teatro de Iturbide). We continue with the Monument to the Corregidora in front of the Zenea Garden and the Danzante de Concheros Chichimeca next to the Temple of San Francisco.
We visited the Regional Museum of Querétaro (former Convent of San Francisco). If you are looking for places to dine in Querétaro, we show you a rooftop restaurant in the Center, Terraza La Grupa. But if authentic Mexican food is your thing, we also show you an authentic Hidalgo-style pit barbecue! With which we begin the second day in Los Arcos, the emblematic aqueduct of Querétaro. On the way to the Temple and Convent of the Holy Cross, we stopped at El Mirador de los Arcos to appreciate the incredible views.
We visited the Querétaro MACQ Museum of Contemporary Art (former Convent of the Holy Cross) and then continued touring the Historic Center and made a quick stop at the Santiago Carbonell Foundation Museum with his realistic works and paintings. We then headed to the Plaza de Armas, one of the most beautiful public squares in the city. We loved the murals at the Gómez Morín Cultural Center! You must visit them. We ended our days at the Santa Rossa Temple in Viterbo.
