We enjoy visiting Sugarlands Visitor's Center. Back about 10 years ago or so, we took the hike to the cabin with our grandson. I really enjoyed the hike and seeing the cabin. Just seeing the cabin was worth the hike.

With part of the sign missing reminded me of one of our visits there.. we were in the National park and had pulled over and walked down a slight bank to the flowing stream probably stood there 15 minutes walked back up the bank to find someone had busted out the passenger car window and stole a handbag from the back floorboard...my handbag was hidden under a jacket so they didn't get it ...we never heard any glass break guess cause the water from the stream was so loud.. I've learned always hide your valuables BUT ALSO make sure any other ppl with you (older parents kids teenagers also hide there stuff as well) we made a police report drove around the rest of our stay with a sheet of plastic as our new window.. over a year later we were contacted that the handbag was found id inside so it was tossed after the money grab...Dont mean to sound negative here but its Easy to let your guard down in such a Beautiful place! Thanks Will and Dawn

That’s a real bummer, stealing the National Park symbol. Is nothing sacred? Thanks again Will and Dawn for telling folks about the Smokies.
