The thumb sucking analogy is actually perfect because identically to porn, the long-term effects of engaging in that behavior are harmful and damaging (misalignment of teeth, costly orthodontic procedures to fix, etc). In the same way, porn has long-term effects even after quitting. This is something I’m realizing as I’m coming up on 1 year clean but still feel the mental residue and poison. Thank you!

Oof, "feel the ache" is basically what my pastor said as we were talking upon our reliance upon fleshly pleaaures and addictions: "sit in the discomfort" His point being yours, that we need to struggle through the temptation to self-sooth and self-satisfy and instead call out to our God and wait patiently for His satisfaction in His timing. It always arrives.

Does anyone else struggle 10000000000x more with denying yourself sexual gratification than any other thing in your walk of faith? Let me explain, it’s easy for me to not take revenge. It’s easy for me not to kill someone. Sometimes it’s even easy for me to love my neighbor. It’s easy for me to show mercy. But when I am surrounded by a culture of sex that God does not want me to indulge in or ever experience? To me, THAT is painful. Knowing other men are out there being fulfilled while I’m basically a monk.

We're living in a pornified culture. We are to blame for conceding into lust and lack of prayer and mortification. We have it to easy in our current times and relapse shows us how much we indulge ourselves in many ways. We have to like it living life the hard way, we have to cherish the nails of the cross piercing our corrupt will. We have to be humble and ask God for help, because in many ways we can't help ourselves alone.

Simple fix here guys, i promise as a brother in Christ i have the fix: Firstly go to confession and do your penance. Then, pick up the rosary and offer it for whatever intentions you like, but especially for release of this sin. I swear by all that is holy, if you ask for Mary’s intercession, she WILL have her son, Jesus Christ, our lord and savior, free you from these chains. You’ve got nothing to lose if you’re here, i know. Do this, and do it consistently, you WILL break these chains.

Pray ur way thru it, pray till your breakthrough comes, and ask God for strength to resist, courage, peace, focus, and anything else that you are feeling you need in that moment, and if you dont feel something straight away, try again, sometimes you will resist, and other times you will struggle but eventually you will grow more and more, and ur sin will get weaker and weaker. Continue to lean on God and run to him dont hide, stay in a place of repentance 😊

How can God help me waste less time online? I have free will but I use it unwisely. I have always had difficulty keeping my fasts or promises to God. I constantly feel guilty for not reading my Bible daily. I think the issue is I think if I didn't read the Bible first thing in the morning then I have failed. The first thing I do in the morning is reach for my phone 📱🤳. I really want to put God first but I get distracted by interesting youtube videos and I forget my priorities of job hunting, keeping a clean house, praying, reading scripture, etc. I also talk TOO MUCH. It can feel like only losers need Jesus. I'm certain there are atheists who have self control, make morally upright decisions, act responsibility, who are grounded in reality, emotionally stable, etc. Why can't I fix myself?

This is the will of Christ; to do the will of the Father-to finish his work for which he sent him to do. God the Father speaks to us by his Son, and made the worlds BY his Son. Jesus is the way TO the Father, who is God (John 14:6). No man has seen or heard God, yet people claim Jesus as God even though he walked and talked amongst us. It goes against his word. They are on in agreement and perfect harmony. Jesus tells us that he will show us *plainly* of the Father on that day those reach heaven (John 16:25), for no man has seen or heard the Father-the one true GOD. Jesus came from the Father, who is GOD (John 16:27-28). We must know them both to have eternal life (John 17:3).
