The scary part is knowing whether they're reaching out to rekindle the relationship or reaching out to breadcrumb. I want to keep it light and be grounded if it happens, but also don't want to keep it "too light" to the point where they think it's okay to continue being avoidant. Day 6 in no contact now...hurts like hell and I am totally shattered and struggle to not reach out.. Don`t have the physics to work out or even take a walk due to an attack of sciatica because of the whole situation. He reached out after 2 and a half month. He wished me happy birthday and said he hopes I m okay. It was so shocking I could not believe it. I replied in the night simple thank you and he went on asking me how I am and how was my birthday. I just replied only I m fine thank you I hope you are good as well. I never imagined he would text me again I was crying and in shock as it was so overwhelming. He had his bday 3 weeks earlier prior to mine but I stayed strong and I did not reach out and he did for mine. Overwhelming!

I want to add something I hope is helpful. My ex is avoidant. I've been through it twice with her. I was certain she was the love of my life. The amazing conversations. When we were together it felt like family. Both of us acknowledging we've never had a powerful connection like this. Both times things were going so well and out of the blue she called it off.. twice. The second time was about two months ago. The first month after it happened was the worst month of my adult life. Here's how I look at life. Bad things will always happen. What emotions are coming up during these difficult times? That is your work to do on yourself. Every time something bad happens I commit to learning and personal growth. If you practice life this way you will always get better! Whether she reaches out or not is irrelevant. Emotionally I hope she does. We all want that. Regardless anyone who will repeatedly dismiss you isn't worth your time. I hold no ill will. In fact I love her very much. But I refuse to love anyone more than myself. Find your strength and work on yourself in ALL difficult situations. You deserve nothing less. You are the creator of your life. Let them go and find yourself. Much love!

@mariana4095 the biggest and most important thing to realize. It isn't about you.. we automatically assume we did something wrong or are unlovable. I've been able to look through my relationships and I always chase avoidant women because they trigger my anxiety and I must have them! This is very important.. as long as we choose partners who are emotionally incapable of being close and are unaware of there behavior it will continue. This knowledge and working on yourself is the door to your best self. Let go and learn about yourself and why you choose these partners. You will understand and be able to spot these red flags in the future. Again this isn't about you. It's about there trauma

It seems everything which constitutes a successful intimate relationship ( love, honesty, integrity, caring, attentiveness etc ) has to get turned on its head when hearing or meeting up with an ex who is reaching out with obvious signs of reconnection. Even though we want them back, it seems we have to try and prove our level of interest is low and be less than honest to instill doubt into their mind so they fear losing us. I assume you are still hurting by this and clings to the hope of getting back together? The question in the end then is; Would you take her back when she left you for someone else, and with this constantly on your mind; if you get back together and the danger if it happens AGAIN? My ex and I broke up 2 months ago after dating just over a year. Ibegged the first week or 2 after then went into no contact for about a month. This past Saturday, she messaged me out of nowhere and asked me to come to her place. I went there, we had a great time. let her do most of the talking, kept asking questions and focused on making her laugh and feel comfortable. My question is, should I txt her and let her know it was a fun time and try to make plans for the 2nd meet up since she reached out the first time? I agree with you on that. Where I live we for most of last year it was was only outside dining and it was very limited. The only time that was available was at 11am and that was before we were shut down all together again. That was 6 months ago and places are only just opening up again.

My ex is reaching out everyday because my son was injured last weekend. I had him blocked for about 2 weeks prior to the incident, he said he was trying to reach out many times and how I hurt his feelings for blocking him. made a hUGEEE mistake when I got the second chance and got anxious and wanted to jump straight back into a relationship with him. Then when he wasn't responding to my texts for days, I broke up with him through text saying we wanted different things (as his hot and cold behaviour was soo odd and weird to me), then I stupidly changed my mind 3 hours later then sent him a text sorry I didnt' mean that. and then he broke up with me saying that is the second time I have broken up with him and wanted to come back and then said, when he read that, it was done. Then I sent giant essays saying sorry etc. etc. why we would work together etc. lol not sure if ill ever hear from him again honestly. but who knows. deleted his number, there is no way i can even contact him now unless i full on stalk him on fb (which I'm NOT going to do) lol. And just focus on myself. I really want to get to a point where I feel soo secure, that even if it goes great with a guy, I am not all over them. That I keep my options open until they show me they want commitment. Currently doing your workbooks!

I deactivated all my social media for two weeks. I did it for me. Because i knew i would post things that i shouldn't just to get his attention. I would stalk his profiles... So i deactivated them, i tried to focus on me, i cried a lot, i saw my friends and after almost three weeks when i felt ready i activated them. Do it for you, for your mental health... Also i think they'll wonder more about you and then you'll come back calmer and happier or at least make them think you are.
