Top work. This demonstrates why it’s important to use a proper professional electrician like yourself. How many cowboy blokes from down the pub would have picked up on this dangerous situation. Keep up the good work.👍

Well done for sorting on the clients behalf. Whenever I have high loop impedance in my area, UKPN won't attend without you sending them an eicr or something written on headed paper from an electrical company before they will attend. When I argued they said they dont have to provide an earth 🤷

They haven't been required to provide an earth since late 90's or something but it's madness, I believe they have to maintain it if it's existing, even if it's poor...unfortunately it gets annoyingly murky between DNO's 🙃🙃

@@bristolsparky technically speaking they can give you notification that the earthing is not sufficient and that you need to supply your own thing arrangement and they give a bit of notice on that and then simply discount off their end but also with the current regulations it’s highly recommended to install your own thing as well so they kind of count on that

@@bristolsparky Never had to provide an earth. Not East Midlands anyway. Started giving us PME on new installs in about 1990? Which was brilliant.

A man after my own heart. Exactly how I work. Being retired and only part time there is far less pressure and far more satisfaction in completing a good job instead of an ‘adequate’ job.

Had the DNO out on Wednesday to disconenct a dangerous supply (derelict property i was attending to). All very strightforward and stress free - called 105, explained what the situation was and what i wanted, no problem - 3 hours max they advertised and the chappy was there in 1.5. Cant fauly them!

Always found that my way with SSEN also, they won’t change a metal cutout live, safer to isolate outside before chipping the pitch out 😅

To be honest, I don't blame them for wanting to disconnect the supply there wasn't much room to do that live.

At least someone left with some common sense. Though I would have tried to fit the lights a tad lower if possible, rather than have them hiding behind beams

Soon as they’re hear a customer is ‘off supply’ they’ll have to attend 😂 often been passed off with earthing issues and explained it’s not possible to install a rod with other services nearby
