its main reason is to ensure the cables cant be pulled out through the `gland` also in a fire, the inners of the gland will swell

For it depends on how the tails are supported outside the enclosure. If they’re rock solid then a gland might be overkill (but when has that stopped me?) but the finger-sized gap next to them is a complete no-no regardless. Lovely work as ever.

What tests was you doing on the rod, a trip test? Could you explain what your looking for in thus test and why not do a ze test instead?, im an apprentice just trying to learn

I always use a lightning protection firm for my earth rods / tapes / consistent low readings for generator / caravans / TT etc and relatively inexpensive, they did a caravan park with all the gear cheaper than I could buy the gear! Certificated and risk free

Why not divorce / terminate / PME in plastic enclosure on outside of remote building ,, and pass L & N conductors through wall straight into C U ,, rear entry . / just a thought
