I'm a mopar guy but my father got me into Pontiacs so I kinda cringed when I seen that LS engine in a old pontiac I know to each his own and everyone builds cars to there liking but personally it would've been cooler if it had a tri power 389. Personally I get allot of hate for putting a 440 big block in my 67 Plymouth Barracuda but like I said to each their own, that's what makes hot rods and restomods special in their own way

Beautiful ride lots of time consuming work the wife will love driving it just sad to see her and her late husband won't be doing it together. Like what happen to my permits when my father passed at 45 years with a nice Chevy bel-air. Hope to see her on the road someday to say hi and check it out . Stacey keep up the great work. And God bless you . 😊

Is it me or was the announcement of Dennis’s passing not somber enough? Saying it like it was the punchline of a joke. Respect to Stacey but this was a stumble.
@mikea5205
@mikea5205 6 жыл бұрын
I felt the same when he announced it. I thought it was just me being too sensitive but I guess not. I know for sure that it wasn't the shows intention to project any disrespect.
@Lxdeez

I thought the exact same. "Dennis.. DIED!" Yeah he definitely should edit that or something. Didn't sound sincere.
@Donpatch88

i also dont like how he equated it right after to "leaving the spouse with a burden of no records" i mean come on who expects to die suddenly. im definitely not happy with how the death of dennis was treated

hey at least he didn't give it the "Stacey laugh" after saying it. everything is so scripted he probably forgot to show the proper somber respect.

Actually the title of the 1st "Muscle Car" is accredited to the 1949 Oldsmobile Rocket 88! Oldsmobile introduced the 88 badge in 1949. It was named to complement the already-existing 76 and 98, and took the place of the straight-8 engined 78 in the model lineup. The new car used the same new Futuramic B-body platform as the straight-6 engined 76 but paired it with the new 303 cu in (5.0 L) Rocket V8 engine producing 135 horsepower (101 kW). This combination of a relatively small light body and large, powerful engine made it widely considered to be the first muscle car. The Rocket 88 vaulted Oldsmobile from a somewhat staid, conservative car to a performer that became the one to beat on the NASCAR (National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing) circuits. It won six of the nine NASCAR late-model division races in 1949, 10 of 19 in 1950, 20 of 41 in 1952, and was eventually eclipsed by the low-slung, powerful Hudson Hornet, but it was still the first real "King of NASCAR." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oldsmobile_88

I'm with you on that brotha. Could have put injection and OD trans on a 400 for the late model driveability. I get the LS is cheap and strong, but I wont cross certain lines and putting that in an old school Pontiac is one of those lines.

If it doesn't have the OEM motor(or similar engine of that same year) &/or bigger than 15" rims...it's a fail. I'm just that way. Pretty car, beautiful interior.

at 13:42 he says this is where most muscle cars had their batteries. that's strange, most I've seen, grew up with, and wrenched on had them on the core support in the engine bay.
