My load out for when I'm playing bad is dual Caldwell Conversion, and Caldwell Rival shorty. Not a very "skill" based loadout 😅. Very spammy and aggressive

This is super solid and practical advice. I even will hop back into the Trials to get some more stars too....the speed trials help with your movement and rotation, the sniper challenges with aiming and accuracy, and the killing the pve mobs combines the two. I find when I drill these and start to acquire more stars, I tend to play better too in Bounty Hunt

@@razupaltuv2636 Yeah same here. I find the higher MMR intense but it can get sweaty and boring playing the same load outs over and over because you know they're strong. Low MMR is more wild, but can be frustrating with inexperienced teammates or boring due to pushover opponents. With 200 hours in the game I don't think grinding for the highest MMR is going to be the most fun way to play the game. Just change it up and half fun. There's a hundred different ways to play this game

I always feel like I somehow improve at games that I don’t play for a while. I think the biggest issue in hunt is that people are scared of it, and once you die a couple of times you play slower and slower and more and more scared, which actually makes you worse and puts you on the back foot in a game where having the initiative is like 95% of the fight.

​@@Bigboy_smooth You just have to get good at positioning, this will allow you to take more shots to train your aim, and then eventually gain the "initiative" in some fights which you have to recognize and act upon quickly. The main reason people die to headshots like that is just simply because they're activating sound traps and then running through open fields. You should try this game again, but next time use your brain and don't run into the open after making tons of noise (one singular dog/chicken pen or even just one murder of crows each qualify individually as "tons of noise" enough for someone far away to recognize where you are and might be going)

Big fan of just taking a break. Also playing some warmup rounds in a different, more laid back PvE shooter, especially something co-op with your Hunt team, if teamwork and communication needs some attention. Also, this may sound weird, but playing some sneaky farming solo rounds in Hunt, where you prioritize surviving and leveling up a few hunters over getting fights taking the bounty, can be very calming/centering, plus you get some better hunters out of it. It can be really interesting to literally hunt other teams, stalking them, watching how they move and what choices they make, and only engaging opportunistically. It helps reestablish good habits for moving well and positioning to your advantage.

I'll have to try the solo safari for this, solos usually kill my aim due to nerves, so it'd be good for slowing my play down. I tend to go all gas no brakes after a while of trios. That being said my goto reset loadout is saved as "Unga bunga" it's a bow, a combat axe, basic healing, one stam and one flash. Decoy fuses optional. It's super dumb fun. And helps get me off tilt. Bonus for using voip to gibber at your opponent as you rush them with an axe.

Great advice. Especially since the boost to certain traits like Necro, Magpie, Serpent. You can even be a sneaky mf and try to serpent the bounty then either fight or just run. Works well if you can third-party teams fighting over the bounty and you just slip in and take it. Done that a few times and killed a couple of hunters on the way.

Ill always say if you start playing badly and drop in rank, change guns and try to level up a gun you left untouched. You'll have a gun to blame if you play badly but still get to keep playing. An if the new gun works well for you, you get another gun to max level and that's progress in getting better just in a different way.

I've noticed that I start playing poorly when my heart rate goes up. If I'm not "in the zone", and my heart starts pounding, I just miss shots like crazy. For whatever reason it just happens sometimes, I think it's a state of mind thing. If I'm really into it my heart will stay calm and it's no problem.

its probably adrenaline from being shot at, its natural, just know the more you get used to it, the more accustomed you are, and also try some melee charges, thrat really helped with my adrenaline, and if you also ever get in a gunfight irl (small chance depending on where you live) you might be able to control yourself more when and if you get shot at

When I am in a rut, I always go back to playing a loadout that I know I have fun with. Sparks, New Army (with dum dum), and making sure to take concertina and hellfire bombs. I play that until my brain starts working again!

In all of the shooters I can't seem to get consistent in Hunt. It feels like in the time before sessions someone adjusted my DPI or servers are lagging or Crytek have broken my sights. Literally any other shooter I know why I play good or bad (quake, arma, even tarkov), but Hunt often feels like luck or smth is not right. I know its me but if someday we learn about some broken shooting mechanic I wouldn't be surprised. I'll take my copium now.

Whenever I am doing bad, I find some kind of primal rage inside of me and I take a caldwell rival and an Officer Brawler. If I charge head on and die, then it is on me. But those few times I do catch the team off guard, it becomes a bloodbath and I relish in it. Thanks for making me pick up hunt again!

I'm not the best at getting out of ruts. Like many others, I try to go back to comfort guns, stick with free hunters so I'm not wasting resources, and generally try to refocus and think about my situations before I do something crazy (I even changed my sensitivity this last time, and it seems to have helped). It doesn't always work, it comes in waves, and sometimes it really just is dumb luck. But at the end of the day, I just can't quit while I'm behind, so I end up digging my ruts pretty deep. I've also taken to running free hunters as a solo just to learn to make better decisions. I've hit some of my best shots ever in some of those games.

Ruts can be an early warning for burnout. Sometimes playing builds I suck at until I'm better at them helps (i dropped stars so why not improve my self on less skilled players lol), other times a break helps.

I feel so seen! Thanks for the vid. Glad to know I'm not the only one. As much as I hate to admit it, taking a break usually works best. However, I also have found that consistently taking the same loadout can help, so I'm not switching my muzzle velo and sights each time I play. Also, taking a single-shot weapon like the martini or sparks makes me slow down and focus, which can help keep me mindful of other things situationally.

For whatever reason I had so much trouble w/ the last chapter and it was VERY disheartening, but b/w just taking the game far less seriously and the ideas conveyed here, I feel far better. I actually liked the questline. The trick is to group PVP quests and PVE quests separately. Hunter killing is done well in teams, while gator traps and other PvE stuff can be speedran in solo vs trios - less sweaty solos, less teams on the map, they do more noise, so easier to spot and avoid, and there is more untouched ground for you to clear. I also ditched the quests that would take too much time - like dealing 500 fire damage to living hunters. The only one that was pain in the ass was 6 kills with Ferryman`s Oar. I don't like bolt-action rifles, especially stock ones, and in addition to that I constantly kept finding myself fighting in close quarters. Was really glad when it was over.

When I'm in that state I play martini henry, somehow it is suited for shooting in situations when you have to miss by an inch as it makes it a successful hit. Or I simply play shotguns, when you don't have to aim just point the boomstick to a needed direction

I particularly agree with the importance of having FUN as a tonic to being on tilt, in a sense. Tier zero hunter solo runs tend to help me out with this problem. Kit with a Romero, caldwell conversion, knife, medkit,dynamite, and lesser vitality shot, then go find your way into a fight, but be smart about it. Don't necessarily fight to win via kills, but do fight to win via snagging some dude's expensive gun and laughing on your way to the extract while his partner revives him only to find out he's the latest victim of grand theft avtomat.

A game has never gotten so much visceral emotion out of me like Hunt, so many genuine feelings of betrayal when a cowardly teammate sees both of us die and he books it to extract, so much fun laughing in VOIP with the people I'm supposed to be shooting at. Something I did when I was playing like crap, I either pull back and snipe to play it safe, or I just play winfield and hand crossbow for some practice with ol reliable. I rarely push buildings even when I’m playing well. When sniping, I like to post up around a compound and pick people off who are trying to push the compound, wait for someone to pick up a bounty, and move ahead of them so I can post up a good line of sight for an ambush.

A variation. I was working through the Reptile Questline, mostly for the Silenced Shorty. I thought I'd try and go the distance for the Legendary Hunter too, just for fun! At which point, I spent several HOURS making absolutely zero headway in any challenge. No bleeding Hunters, no damage to Bosses, no Extractions/Wellsprings.... nada. So yeah, I'm done playing silly buggers just to get a Legendary I probably won't even use. That streak very nearly put me off Hunt altogether!

I hoped this subject might get a couple of minutes in the Q&A and then this drops :D Personally I get very frustrated with myself not being perfect in all things ever which is the most perfect feedback loop imaginable, especially in Hunt. I think taking a few weeks off is probably the most effective but least satisfying way to refresh - but with the questlines that's not time I have. It's been funny: I'm a solid 3.8 star, reasonable but not great, and I've been stinking it up the last week or so but I had a couple of games during that time where I was on fire, way better than normal, then back to whiff city. I'll try gun swapping for a laugh next time I play.

Whenever I start doing bad I use each one until I find my rhythm again, and since the loadouts are all only made up of my favorite guns and weapons im guaranteed to find one of them that I have fun with. A bomb lance with a bow and arrow (quartermaster only ofc), officer carbine with a lemat pistol, and a lemat carbine with an officer brawler. Sometimes I switch the bomb lance for a borheim match but those are my groove loadouts.

Had this happen a few times recently... i decided to start using a bayonet winny with fmg because, for some reason it has lower recoil than the others.. with some small ammo pistol with fmg.. pretty fun to spam levering at walls.. one problem with that is you start getting back into the groove end up back in 5-6 lobbys and just get meta gamed till u drop back to 4-5

I usually change from bounty to focus to quest or challenge focus to get out a rut. Prestiging is a more drastic solution but can freshen up the game.

I have a loadout setup Called ol' Reliable with a Romero, and officer in it I used to call it that in 2013 and whenever games go Bad Ol' Faithful has never let me down

feeling the same, I learned Hunt from psychoghost and Mike will ever have a respectful mention for his contribution to Hunt community but I learned more advanced stuff (fine improvements like correct positioning, sound awareness and aiming pace etc. ) from ratchaz and hornet. From my perspective, ratchaz is the only 7 stars player. There might be other good players, idk. I also know that stars and KDA don't really matter since Hunt is not CoD or CSGO and isn't meant to have a defined ranking system but still... so enjoy Hunt and play however you like it! You will eventually improve from both playing a lot and watching others do it via this video for instance.

my self-advise to poor streaks is: trust yourself. It naturally uplifts me to play better and improve in gameplay and mentally. Again I am a solo 3star player with positive K/D, I am not a progamer or an youtuber but I do enjoy some tough matches

Took a week break because of moving before that I was at 5 star and still getting such good kdas each round that I thought I might go up to 6 for the first time soon now I am stuck at 3 lol

What I’ve found seems to work for me is playing different load outs one right after the other on a different hunter. No idea why? But I managed to get 3 out of 5 of them to level 50. Felt good. Either that or playing a kinda weird loadout. For example, played a match with a hunting bow and compact specter, got 4 enemy hunters.
