I was an athlete in highschool football & track. Better than most because i always put in more work than the rest. Even though that was years ago i find it hard making a transition to realizing there’s hard work in patience. Before, hard work was always associated with physical exertion but now with trading, hard work also comes with the patience i have for quality setups, patience to not take positions during choppy price action, patience when i have to show up to a job i hate and trust the process.

What the problem was is that I’m not following my trading strategy which is using liquidity and fair value gaps and entering a trade just because. I hopefully will come back to this this comment section with a payout.

If you’ve lost all of your progress as a trader then you should consider taking less trades, it will be way more effective because it is less likely for you to make mistakes and your concentrations are relatively high

Regardless of how many trades you take you are still likely to lose money provided you're not trading through professional mentorship. I can guarantee you it mostly takes the assistant of an expert to know the right market entries and exist to make while trading and that is the most important aspect of successful trading.

I would say having patience is the most difficult part about trading. You need to be patient and WAIT for your set ups to occur and not blindly enter a trade. Because you have something in front of you that is constantly moving like price action, you think you have to take action or you'll miss on a price move. That's where most people fail. They think they need to always be DOING something, instead of being patient and only entering a trade when it makes sense to. We have been conditioned to ALWAYS be working, ALWAYS taking action, ALWAYS being busy. Trading is the complete opposite of that because it's not the place to ALWAYS take action. We need to be patient and let the opportunity come to US. Don't try to CREATE opportunities because that is simply impossible.

You miss the setup because your scared and dont believe within yourself that your strategy actually works. But then the move happens, you see it works, then get either fomo, overconfidence, or a type of anger and proceed to take false trades or bad setups. You lose on those setups and start back at the beginning of this statement. You have to find the most objectivity within the markets as possible.

I always find a reason to NOT take the trade to protect myself. meanwhile, even in A+ set ups Ive noted there is always something present that makes you second guess. but at least w my system there are enough things lining up where it makes sense to put risk on. def agree its like a way to protect myself from facing losing and I journal often about what losing means to me. i have good days where i can handle it and days where i cant. but i think the theme of the video is to stick with it and keep putting in the work so that we/I can overcome this hurdle.
