Even if her videos were not so helpful/wonderful.....I just love listening to her voice. How soothing.

Thanks for this but Should I cut the top off my tall Panda plant in the hope it will have new growth along the bare stem? It is very slow growing single stem but the cluster of long leaves on the tip is lovely?
@SucculentGrowingTips10 ай бұрын
Ahh, that is a bit of a tough call. Cutting the top should encourage new growth along the stem but it's not a given.. Sometimes you can get loads of new growth but not always. The good thing is that the panda plant is easy to root from cuttings so, even if you won't get many new branches on the tall stem, the top should root without an issue. I guess it's ultimately up to you. If you don't mind its current look, you can just leave it be but you can also experiment a little..🙂

@@SucculentGrowingTips Thanks so much for replying to my question. I think I will leave it for now as the top cluster is lovely. I live in the South of Morocco. It is ridiculously hot now and its not even summer! So I will keep an eye on it.

Wen I watch your videos and admire how your succulents look so healthy and beautiful, I feel a bit frustrated with my iwn efforts to grow them well. Some videos say dat u've to 'stress' them in order for d succulents to maintain their beautiful colouration by exposing d plants to full sunlight and less watering. Well, I did dat, but d plants struggle to even maintain their colouration and then show signs of dehydration.. but wen I water them they start to lose their colouration!! For a long time I gav up trying to grow succulents, echeveria esp. But since I've plenty of leisure time now, I'm determine to win dis fight. Here's hoping your tutorial will help me! Tks 😊

Oh no, don’t feel bad- it’s hard to get them colourful sometimes even when you stress them. Many will naturally lose colour when it’s warm and there’s unfortunately not much that can be done about it. They look their best in the cooler months 🙂 even mine lose colour during summer 🙂

@@SucculentGrowingTips I knew it!! I've been suspecting dat these cacti and succulents need cool weather to thrive. I've visited South Africa and Kenya and was pleasantly surprised how cool d weather is there, notwithstanding d full sun out shining!! I'm afraid M'sian weather is very hot, very wet, almost all year round. It's even more hot now than ever!! Climate change and all dat. Even tho I put them in d shade of my car porch, they still don't like it as much. I dont hav space to expand my garden to top my many woes. On d other hand, I wld like to train them to suck up to our weather, like it or not, cos dat's all I hav!! I noticed dat d cacti seem to fair better than d succulents in our weather tho.

@@umikalthumabdulmajid5406 yes, weather like that can be a bit hard on succulents. I think the only way you could grow succulents that would be colourful is in a greenhouse with a hard cover and a fan to disperse the humidity and stress them with controlled watering. And yes! Cacti are surprisingly tolerant of wet, humid weather!😀 On the upside though, you can grow amazing tropical plants!🙂

@@SucculentGrowingTips I used to grow lots of tropical herbaceous flowering plants etc. But these plants need watering every day. As my work schedule wld require me to travel overseas for periods of time, I had to depend on my sister to water them every day while I was away. I didn't think dat was a good solution as my sister too was working then. Dat was why I decided to change my plants to cacti/succulents,which need watering only periodically! So here am I set on dis course. Since retirement, I've become more ambitious to add to my collection by adding more fancy succulents which need more care, hence d problems they post!! Anyways, I enjoy your videos cos they r very educational and explain many things which I didn't know. U got to open your mind to new things and experiment!! 😁😍

I am trying to use echeveria leaves that are curled a lot. Is is okay to lay the leaf upside down on the soil to keep the leaf tip out of the soil?
@SucculentGrowingTips10 ай бұрын
Yes- the leaf baby will find the right way up eventually, even if they are upside down. Some can get a bit twisted but as they grow, they'll sort themselves out. 🙂
