I have found that vacuum sealing powders helps keep them from clumping. Also storing in as smal a jar as possible that will allow the volume you have to store.
@Metqa Жыл бұрын
If you keep your smaller jars that have a rubber ring on them , for example from pesto or small sauces, then you can vacuum seal them by putting the filled lidded jar into a larger contaner that you can vacuum. so a container withing a container, and then vacuum the big container. It will putll the air out of the small container inside,and when you release the vacuum from the larger container, the pressure of air will push down and seal the smaller container which still has a vacuum thanks to the rubber seal on the lid. I've done this for several small recycled containers and it's great!

Can you use the Strawberry powder to add for Lemonade, and do you need to add alot of Sugar or would the strawberry powder have ample Sugar?
@ThePurposefulPantry3 жыл бұрын
It will not have ample sugar - and it's a flavoring agent. It is sweet, but probably not enough to do what you typically expect from lemonade. And it does not dissolve like a drink powder - it will leave a little grit in your pitcher or glass. So if you use a fine mesh tea strainer to steep in the lemonade, it will give you flavor, sweetness and no grit.

It starts to kill off some - Vitamin A&C but most of the rest are left. It is not bereft of vitamins and nutrients when you're done lol. But yes, if you want to ensure to keep everything - anything below 115F is the technical temp but lower is fine.

Do you know if it’s safe to use the desiccant packs that come in OTC medicine bottles (there’s always one in my lactase supplement, and my husband’s omeprazole) for storing in homemade powders? I usually save them and toss them into totes of seasonal decorations since I live in a humid area, but if I could reuse them like this it would save me money!

I don't recommend it. They carry the remnants of the medication that you are then putting into your food.
