I’m so glad I found you I have bought two cultures and only one has any worms and there were only a teaspoon of worms max. They have already increased in size but it’s so slow.

I've gotten white worms from him. And I gotta say it's still going and just overall good experience.

Good instructional video. Many channels have done how-to videos on raising live foods, but something you rarely see is a video about how they live in nature. I would like to see such a video, and I think this is the perfect channel to explore such a topic. Just my thoughts... great content!

Love your video. I've been wanting to try culturing white worms for a long time but didn't know how to start. Now I can't wait to start. I saw that you fed them through a syringe in some white solution. Can you show that portion of your video, the harvesting and feeding in that solution please?

Give us one like this on the micro worms. I always feel like I’m just putting yuck in tank. And need reminders on how to keep them fresh and multiply

I liked this video, but I have some questions please - for OP, or another person reading this message: - Is tap water, with conditioner, OK when mixing soil up for new culture (3.59) ? - How do I collect and separate the worms from the soil? You use a gauze pad (8.30). What is that pad made of... would a cotton pad work? You seem to have a syringe full of them (15.15). Do you mix the worms with water then suck them up somehow? - What if I over feed my fishes? Will the worms live a day or two (or three?) in the fish tank? Many thanks in advance.

Ha, I found most of my questions answered in your other video "Feeding and Harvesting White Worms". Thanks again.

Great video! Are there other options for food for the worms other than oatmeal? Thanks!
@phillipsfishworks Жыл бұрын
Yes, they will eat many things. They love plain greek yogurt, rotting veggie scraps, fish food... probably moistened plain breakfast cereals. Hope this helps

Should I try coir (coco peat) ?

It might be worth experimenting with. I have not tried it myself but have heard it's not as good as soil. Good luck!

What is the lowest temp they can handle? Is a fridge too cold?
@phillipsfishworks8 ай бұрын
A fridge won't kill them but from what I understand they go kind of dormant and don't reproduce. I have never personally tried it... I have had customers tell me they have had success in the 60s and low 70s.

Are these the thinner longer tropical white worms (room temp), or are they they shorter fatter white worms (50F) ?

Can I buy a white worm culture
@ForeverAlone100100 Жыл бұрын
These cultural you have is it Enchytraeus albidus white worm species or Enchytraeus buchholzi Grindal worm species? I don’t know much and I tend to buy the wrong culture.. thank you..
@phillipsfishworks Жыл бұрын
I purchased them as Enchytraeus albidus white worm from a fish show long ago. They culture best at lower temps... 55-60ish is ideal would be worth experimenting with at higher temps. A basement floor is usually adequate. I use a wine cooler and freezer that's been converted into a worm cooler to culture mine. Good luck and thanks for watching 😁

Can you put in refrigerator? How do you know if Parasites or harmful things. I see that you mentioned that you sell them also.
@phillipsfishworks Жыл бұрын
The refrigerator is too cold. It doesn't kill them but they don't really reproduce well. Typically a basement floor is great. I have also had several customers have success without being at the optimal cold temperature... I do sell them on my website. There is more information about their care on the site. www.phillipsfishworks.com/product-page/white-worm-starter-culture-8-oz

You would do that with black worms. White worms will drown in water
