Good to see practical information based on experience. so many of the hernia videos tend to be from surgeons but have never experienced a hernia themselves! I'm 3 weeks out of open inguinal surgery and still getting pain and discomfort- hopefully it'll ease soon. Your videos give me reassurance!

Yeah that's what I felt too, so many videos on selling us techniques, but not many on how to live better. Thank you.

I’m also three weeks out from left inguinal mesh and umbilical suture laparoscopic surgery. Back to walking, trying to target around 10k steps a day. First week was awful but gradually feels like I’m getting there. Very active prior to the surgery, training 5/6 times a week so this set back is particularly frustrating! Still feel the mesh pulling and twinging on certain movements. And very sensitive / dull ache in the nether regions! But hoping as time goes by this fades.

Glad you are on the path to more freedom my friend. The pulling & tugging of the mesh has gone away with me, it was there for first 6 weeks I'd say, all that remains now is the tightness of the scar tissue (open surgery). As far as setbacks from your physical training, I used that time to help develop a gentleness in my movement that hopefully I can carry through for rest of my life, alot of life can be very forceful & we lose that softness. Keep us updated brother 🙏

@@Expresshonestly Remaining positive that recovery continues at pace and can get back to “normal” as soon as possible. Appreciate this channel and updates you provide. It helped settle the nerves before the surgery as there are a lot of horror stories out there on post op pain etc. Keep the progress updates coming 👌🏼

Had umbilical hernia surgery almost 4 years ago. No mesh, but my scar tissue still hurts now and then, but one thing no one mentioned my balls hurt like mad during that period. Sometimes scar tissue is painful just because weather change. Honestly hernia is no joke..

Glad to see it’s going well I’m 2 weeks away from my op - both sides. Very worried but can’t go on with it not being sorted

Yeah it's very natural to be worried my friend, I was terrified. Maybe ask your doc to give you 1 calming pill for the day of, just run by with surgeon. That helped take edge of me on the day. Is it laparoscopic or open?

I had inguinal surgery with mesh 10 weeks ago and I'm still getting pain under the wound but mostly at the area my hernia was. Its a dull pain that might be the scar tissue healing or thats what I think.
@Expresshonestly2 ай бұрын
Yeah I think you are all good mate, I had pain in area for months & still get aches there after 8 months, its a normal response to having a piece of mesh in the soft tissues.

Thanks for all information,so my mesh I will be feel inside me?it’s not désagréable?it’s ok?it’s normal?
@Expresshonestly5 ай бұрын
Yeah the mesh is permanent, it does not degrade. It blends in with your tissues & creates a strong seal.

@murszoro1 Yes, I can feel what I think is the straight line of the mesh. My bodyfat is very low though.

My surgeon told me the lower your body fat, the more you feel the mesh

This is why I love this channel, access to true information. Thank you. I'm surprised how close to the surface it is,but with open surgery they usually put it there. With laparoscopic I've heard they put the mesh inside the abdominal cavity.

How long after surgery was it before you could do pull ups again?

I waited about 3 months,but I did angled rows on gymnastic rings first.
