What to Expect After Your Diagnosis of AIH

If you take questions, I was diagnosed with AIH three years ago. At that time, I was also diagnosed with Stage IV secondary Cirrhosis of the Liver. I thought I was looking at end-stage Liver disease. It’s been three years, so I asked my Dr about it, and what my prognosis was. He said that having stage IV Cirhosis is not same as in Cancer, so I shouldn’t worry. But your chart doesn’t show anything beyond Stage IV. I need more clarification.

Is it possible to be diagnosed with Hepatitis C when the diagnosis is something like this ?

What if you have Positive ANA, Positive Smooth Muscle but with normal Levels of AST/ALT?

I was diagnosed with SLE then AIH.. are they the same? And what about treatment? I am taking UDCA, Imuran, Prednisone. Is there an alternative treatment? Thank you.

I’m glad he says to come up to the 21st century because there has to be a better way to treat.
