Not sure why you are being downvoted... Honestly for me it's not much the 500 quests as its the damn pace of the combat that pushes a lot of people away.... I thought by now they would have refreshed the lower combat abilities made them a little more exciting where I don't fall a sleep.

Shit happens :). I can see that I might turn people away from starting the game and I could understand a defensive response.

Hey, great video! You are correct the start of the game is certainly a bit of a "slog", but as you mentioned, if you take the time it can be a very enjoyable slog! I recently started the game myself and above all, I have found the community to be one of the best parts of the game! I'm really excited to see your journey as you progress through the game. You've got a new subscriber :)

Yeah. I guess I wish I could binge through it, but it's a lot like reading to me. I can't give my full attention to a book for more then 2-3 hours, which is what I find myself sticking to in terms of FF14 sessions.

Yeah I agree with you, it's a slug at the start. I started playing in Heavensward, and I thought going from ARR to Heavensward was already a pain. I can't even imagine having to catch up to ShB. All I can say is it does for sure get better, and once you start doing some challenging stuff it's really fun. Some of the bosses in this game (even old ones) really outlive expectations.

I am an FFXIV players I'm not going to disagree that the beginning of the story is a slog. Actually, I completely agree, and I always feel bad when players have to slog through ARR, in order to reach HW, which is 5x better than ARR, in storytelling, boss fight, skills, and dungeon. But I just want to comment about the story skip option, they made it cuz players demand it so they can make an ALT to play with friends. That being said, the game still "Final Fantasy" You should take your time and enjoy the story rather than pushing through the content and try to catch up with everyone else. You will probably enjoy the game more when you are more immersed in the game. But thanks for trying out FFXIV, I do hope u are able to make it to HW to experience what most players agree to be one of the best expansion.
