Sedation is NOT required at all. You can also refuse the IV so they cannot trick you into being drugged.

Did you have one done without sedation? If so, how did it go? I'm going in a week and don't want to have sedation, but I can see where I would chicken out after about 30 seconds...

@@sharit7970 It was not bad, just a second or two of cramping when it passes around the corners of the large intestine, so not bad. Really. For me, it was the best choice.

@@tomburns2642 Thanks for the response! Your experience sounds ideal. I really don't want the sedation...I had to laugh at someone's comment, can't remember which video, but they said the best part about not having sedation was that they were out the door before the next guy [who had sedation] was able to speak with words that had more than 2 syllables...lol!

Think baby wipes and vaseline to be more comfortable during and after.
