Palki this news surely surprises me but does not shock me. My father was a patient of Parkinson’s and he too had severe gut problems. A chronic IBS patient with a lot of tension and anxiety. I inherited some of those health issues but I always try to eat healthy everyday. Pro tip: include curd in your diet.

Yeah, the pseudo-science. Ayurveda is an ancient science which was ahead of time, they failed to follow scientific procedure and died. Science is evidence based. Ancient sciences are not. Ayurveda didn't know about bacteria, virus, yeast or any other microbes. There is no HIV in Ayurveda, there is no cure for small pox, polio etc. In my mother's times, entire villages used to get wiped off by diseases. There was no way to identify diabetes, or heart diseases. Avg life expectancy was in 40s when India got independence. Now it is in 70s because of modern medicine. If you want to know the single most difference between Ayurveda and science, it is the process. There is no concept of proof / evidence in Ayurveda or any other pseudo-science. Modern medicine is evidence based.

There’s only one way for good gut health- eat a lot of plants, especially properly cooked legumes and fermented foods (and I don’t mean wine). I’m not vegan, but I find these two approaches very useful- Dr Joel Fuhrman’s GBOMBS (Greens, Beans, Onions, Mushrooms, Berries and Seeds) is one of the best approaches and the other is Dr Michael Greger’s Daily Dozen.

Wherever there are lots of interconnected nerves, we may have a brain type system. In the future we may come across heart-brain, sex-organ-brain etc. Obviously these are nothing but chakras mentioned in our ancient texts. A chakra is a neurological center holding intelligence in that part of the body. Neck also has a brain i suppose.

Too much beef increases risk of cancer and heart disease. And processed meat is same as eating poison. Fish (salmon, mackerel) rich in omega 3 fatty acid is lot better option. chicken, eggs can also be good alternative. But non veg food may lack some vitamins and minerals like vitamin C, so also consume fruits high in those.
