I think having a chain of command in band is extremely important. In my band we only have about 60 students with colorguard included. But the band director also directs our mixed concert choir orchestra and show choir So when he gets a lot of questions he gets pretty upset when they are questions that either other bandmembers can answer or section leaders or drum majors can answer
