I did not see this video as lazy. Now more than ever, take your time and enjoy these moments. I just did the same today. Walked only a mile into the woods to a favorite spot near a large stream, set up a shelter, built a fire, had my chocolate coffee. It was all good practice, but I enjoyed taking my time and just being there for hours. The stream was almost frozen but I even did my end of year polar bear dip, inspired by you! Thank you for inspiring us to get out there and stay strong! Skol

Hello Bjorn, my name is Shelley and I am from America. I remember as a child going to a Danish festival where my Mom grew up and they made puff balls using those pans. I don't recall the proper name, but they were always a special treat. My Grandfather was full Dane. I share your heart as I feel America is lost too, and I often wonder where I am when I wake up in the morning. I just turned 65 this December, and I did not succumb to the pressure of the last 2 years. No face covering, test or magic potion. I was a lone wolf and spent a lot of time in the woods behind my house alone. I still do. It's the only place I feel sane and at peace. I wish you well, and look forward to more of your videos. Happy New Year and God's blessings to you and yours.

I watch train videos from my area , we cut down trees like in was toilet paper , mega wood processing plant just 25 minutes away in Sagola Michigan , find a high spot where you are , look at all the trees , and in one week there all gone , I have 30 acres , and it’s not enough area to store their logs , and the wood piles are 30 feet high , and now they’re piling logs next to the tracks before you get to the plant ! And funny thing is ? I bought boards to make a light at Home Depot , and the stickers on them said ? Made in Sweden ! I don’t understand !

Nothing modern is ever gonna compare to the ancient way things were intended to be for us all from the beginning. I'm predominantly Irish, with an as expected American mongrel mix. But my people on my father's side descend from Norway and Sweden. Only those of us who are truly one with nature are ever gonna be able to experience true joy and fulfillment on this planet. Those who look for such from modern living deceive themselves, and look for something they will never find. I love your videos Bjorn!👍 Keep em coming in 2023! Happy new year!!!

I live in western North Carolina . We have a place in the blue ridge mountains called Wilson creek. It's a mountain river rec area. The locals actually had to create a small army to pick up the trash every weekend. People even spray paint the rocks sticking up in the water, and the team have a portable pressure washer to clean all the graffiti off. Now I'm going to try to say this in a way we can under about what happened here at this place. There are no big towns or cities within a 100mil but yet this is the place they come to to trash. In a joke I made to a man 10yrs ago was , i think they are trying to terraform this beautiful place into what they are used to, south of the border. Yes I said it and will not apologize for it. The truth never starts with an apology. Yes 90% of the people that use this place to dump their trash, camp and leave everything behind, are from south of the border. I have no issues with a family moving here legally and starting a new life, but dont come here and trash the place.. Now the police have closed the road in on some weekends, cut parking in half, the locals had to post all there land, I just don't get it.. Happy new year bjorn

I agree with you 100%. I live in a border state and over the 37 years I have lived here have watched it go from pretty nice to trashed. That is what all the 'diversity' ends up in. Some places literally have been turned into what looks like a place south of the border. They even play local commercials in Spanish now sometimes. Most of these people have no desire to assimilate and want everyone else to assimilate to them and their culture. They can't afford food and diapers and rent, yet have expensive clothes, phones, cars, etc. Most local charities focus on one ethnic group only...to hell with anyone else is their motto. Churches have turned into social justice indoctrination centers and don't even preach true Gospel anymore. The USA is being 'fundamentally' transformed, destroyed and turned into something I don't even recognize anymore. All with the help of many inside traitors and outsider help as well, legal and illegal.

@@bjornandreasbullhansen Bjorn, I posted a recipe for you in this feed. They are Danish, and they are not meant to be pancakes but rather a puffed ball. We sprinkle powdered sugar on our, or use maple syrup or jams with them.
@ssalamon861
@ssalamon861 Жыл бұрын
Hi Bjorn, I tried multiple times to post a link on the recipe, which included a video on how to make these, the proper temperature to ensure the dough inside is cooked properly, and the trick to turning them. Each time it said it was posted, but it never actually appears. Then I just tried to post the link alone, and once again, it said it was posted, but never appeared. Apparently, either you have the page set to deny these types of added links, or KZbin is blocking it. Therefore, I am trying this approach instead, because the traditional Danish way, these are NOT PANCAKES, but rather round ball types when they are done cooking. It's also important when using cast iron like your friend sent you for Christmas, NOT to have the pan too hot, or the dough will not cook properly inside. Here's the recipe, and I suggest using wood skewers or chop sticks for turning these. Here's my last stab at providing the recipe: Ingredients ▢ 2 eggs whites and yolks separated ▢ 2 cups all-purpose flour ▢ 1 Tablespoon sugar ▢ 2 teaspoons baking powder ▢ ½ teaspoon baking soda ▢ ½ teaspoon salt ▢ 4 Tablespoons butter melted, plus extra for the pan ▢ 2 cups buttermilk Instructions In a medium bowl, beat the egg whites with an electric mixer (this can still be accomplished with an old fashioned nonelectric hand cranked mixer, which is what we used when out camping) until stiff peaks form. In a separate, large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, baking soda, and sugar. Stir well, then add the egg yolks, melted butter and buttermilk and mix just until combined. Gently fold the beaten egg whites into the batter. Batter will be fairly thick. Heat your aebleskiver pan over medium heat until hot. Brush each cup with a little melted butter using a pastry brush, then fill each cup with about 2 tablespoons of batter until almost full. As soon as the aebleskivers begin to bubble around the edges, use a wooden skewer, chopstick, knitting needle, or fork to flip them over half way, letting the batter slide around to fill in the bottom of the cup. Continue cooking, turning the aebleskiver again to let the batter fill in the remainder of the sphere and continuing to turn until golden brown all the way around and cooked through. Transfer to a serving plate and dust with powdered sugar, then serve with jam (traditional), honey, cinnamon honey (my favorite!), or even just maple syrup.

Happy New Year from Arizona! My mom has a pan like that hanging over her stove, it's been in the family for years. She's always called it an ebelskiver pan. Don't know if I spelled that correct. We loved when she'd make them when we were little! Very cool! And our local woods get trashed after hunting season as well. As a fellow hunter it's always a bummer, makes us look bad.

I agree. I'll be 55 this spring. Although I keep saying I want to get out more, there always seems to be something. I go to work too often to really enjoy my time like I would prefer. Then, the garden, we grow a LOT of our own food, which occupies quite a bit of time as well, but that part is worth it. It's January, we have 46C of snow on the ground, and more coming down. We're heading into the cold part where we'll average anywhere from -3C to -28C depending on the mood of mother nature, and there is nothing like cooking up a venison stew, where you cut the meat off the bone yourself, with some potatoes, onions, and rutabaga (swede) you grew yourself. Or opening a jar of beans you planted, grew, picked in your backyard then processed them right in the same kitchen you are now heating them up. That satisfaction is quite close to getting out to church (the forest). Granted, we'll be hitting the ski trails quite a bit because we have been lucky enough to get plenty of snow early.

As always great video! Don't know the Dutch name, but we always called them silver dollar pancakes because of the size.

Best wishes from the Netherlands Bjorn. I loved this video. Coincidentally I have family members that lived in Lillehammer for several years. My plan is to do more hiking in 23 as well. I went on a 7 day hike near Trolltunga this summer and I would love to see more of your country. Our most important baggage on our journeys is wisdom.

I was in America in 1978 and visited Las vegas Navada when I was there, they had great breakfast in America, I was 19 and seen almost every state, through car shipping companies ie someone would drop their car off, fly to their destination and they would advertise these cars and the likes if myself, would drive their car to their destination, cheap way of getting round, anyway I digress, in Vegas, they had small pancakes, just like yours, butter, maple syrup etc they called them "silver dollars" they were delicious 😋

Must be something about 50's for doing new stuff. I'm riding from the UK to Nordkapp and King Oscars chapel May 2023 on a Honda C90 Moped, tent camping on the way hoping not to be eaten by a bear or wolves😏 but doing something out my comfort zone, we only live once, may as well make it memorable? Happy new year mate👍

Love the outdoor campfire. Want to try cooking like that. The Klondike goldminers survived on sourdough pancakes, they protected their sourdough starter at all times to the point of sleeping with it . Lovely spot, breakfast in the outdoors is the best. Cheers!

My resolution for the new year is to stop using demoralizing language. For example, if there's a depressing news I need to share, I will share the information, but I will stop adding my editorial "that's it, we're done" or "things are about to go very bad so prepare now" or other useless opinions like so. The information exists, it's what we make of it that determines who we are. And if we keep adding our depressing two cents at every news we share, well it's doing that exact effect: it's demoralizing us. So I will stop doing it altogether. I would love for you guys to consider doing the same. Much love to all.

I have a pan like that , although it’s square. It belonged to my mum . The Danes make Apple dumplings in them , not always with apple , sometimes just the dumpling 🙃but it’s the same pancake batter mix , and you can use buttermilk too . 🥰

9:52 You old bloke I am a spritely young 49 only on Dec 10th. I groan when I move after a hard day and take a few days to recover but I recover. My Nephews won't even sign up for the path I went through. I asked my Sister if he son would train with me and I have not seen him in years. Bricklaying is not that bad. Bush craft is not that bad. They are all into the gym training and the chemical powders that make the muscle. For me it was eggs and meat, then veg. I did not need chemical powder that is over priced.

The Dutch don't call them pancakes, but _"poffertjes"._ You put not too much dough in the little holes, then they are get well done easier inside. You flip them with a stick.

When you live a healthy life, you don't feel even close to the age you are. So you can do a lot more than others the same age. The age does not matter as much as how you live your life. My father in law for example is 70 and looks like he's 40. I did not believe it at first, but there he is. He lives a very healthy life in the countryside. Love your videos, truely inspiring. Keep it up.😀

Hej Björn, we have these in Denmark to, we use them as a cristmastreat called "Æbleskiver" although it has nothing to do with apples. There is kardemomme in them, serve them with jams, and we get glögg (glühwein) with it. Delicius.. ;o) Happy new year to you to.

I got a new 1800 cc motorcycle for my 50th ; first of three new vehicles I have in retirement. I have many bird feeders in my city yard I have always fed them. Thirty years now and last summer a few crows arrived I have a few videos of them ; I hear hundreds of birds every day I really enjoy summer afternoons when all the little birds gather and chirp for hours. The crows almost overwhelm the audio as they approach and then beside the microphone wow it's wonderful. Glad I found your videos.
