Its really inspiring how you keep on going to ballet classes with everything going on in your life. Thank you for helping me push myself! I have flat feet haha so you're not the only one. But doing ballet as a kid actually gave me a bit of an arch on my right foot.

I'm 28 and have always loved watching ballet and I've really developed an appreciation for it just as you have! I've been wanting to start beginner classes for a while now and watching you do them is pretty inspiring, so thank you for sharing your ballet journey with us

I love what you said about correcting and stopping mid-dance. I took a beginner adult swim class and when we would be corrected on our stroke we would stop in the middle of swimming and stand up (which works in the shallow end I guess, but not in the deeper end, ha). Our swim instructor would keep telling us to try to correct while we are swimming and it takes so much energy to think and swim and all the little things as an adult! But I agree that we get better the more we do it! I really want to take more adult ballet classes now that swim is over.

How interesting, never knew that! I also want to start adult swimming classes in the future!

@@Werallgonnadie I really enjoyed it and recommend it if you find someone patient and knowledgeable! And it’s a great life skill and low impact movement as people age and want something more full body workout. I started combining the lessons, so if I needed a moment to readjust, I would practice floating on my back or something. But I do think we just always want to stop and start over as adult vs going with the flow (water pun). The confidence in water holds people back the most usually.

I am an adult male 38 and just took my first ballet class this past Monday. I am brand new to this ballet world. I don’t really know anything about it. I have gotten a ballet shoe a Bloch booties body wrappers White transition men’s tights and Trash bag shorts. I will be doing private lessons as they are a 3 week old studio in my town and don’t have any adult ballet classes. Do I need to know anything or do you or anyone have any tips or advice for me or anything else I need to wear or buy or anything? I want to learn what I can and do it correctly. Anyone’s help and advice would be appreciated!!

That sounds incredible! I am 13 and I will be turning 14 next month. I first danced ballet when I was 5, I danced for a year and eventually moved back to my home county. I tried out figure skating, I skated for a few months but stopped attending the lessons. I then swam competitively, and eventually danced hip hop for 2 years. As I had stated before I am currently 13 (turning 14 next month, February). I have a professional ballet school in the vicinity. This week my mother sent a message on their website, the same day the cofounder of the ballet school called my mother. My mother explained her my situation and desire to dance, they scheduled a meeting in the same week. Yesterday I went with my mother to my first lesson, I really enjoyed it but I also felt a little let down. The girls there were younger than me by 4-6 years, and they were so flexible and so much better than me. I mean I danced ballet for the first time in 8 years, of course I wasn't good. My coordination wasn't so good, my balance was all over the place however, I tried and I loved it. I did lose a lot of my flexibility yet I somehow managed to do the splits yesterday, so that's pretty uplifting. I forgot to mention, there's a group that's around my age, the girls there are already on on pointe, of course. But when me and my mother were leaving yesterday, the teacher told us to stay for a few minutes to watch them. She then told my mother that she will keep me on the younger gorup for a bit to get used to the basics, and then move me up to this group (reminder, this group is around my age, so that's really good). She could have of course said something like- "I have decided to keep her in the younger group" and that's final. And also why would she ask us to watch them before saying what she said? Well that's what I asked my mother and grandmother, they both told me that my teacher had probably seen potential in me. Obviously I wasn't jaw dropping in my first lesson, but I am so encouraged by hearing my teachers words yesterday, it gives me so much hope. I knew that ballet was difficult but I didn't know that it was that hard, I was even thinking on pursuing swimming my other passion. But I reminded myself on why I was there, I missed ballet ever since I have stopped dancing it. I have told myself that I will try my hardest to improve, my flexibility, coordination, strength, balance and more. I am excited to see on what the future holds, I am so encouraged right now. Not only by my teacher's words but also by myself, I know that the splits aren't much. But how I did them yesterday was something else. I really want to reach my age group, so I will try my hardest to improve on everything I possibly can. Wish me luck😄. Edit: I have classe 3 times a week, each one is an hour and thirty minutes long.

This was beautiful! I’m in same position. I danced for a couple of years when I was younger but quit to focus on school. I tried gymnastics, soccer, volleyball, etc. but ballet has always been my passion. For years I knew I wanted to start again but school took up much of my time. I’m 15 now and I have my first lesson tomorrow. I’m taking private lessons with a girl a year older than me so I’m not alone and then will be put into my age group. Good luck to you!!

For ballet, I know you included some clips of you putting your bag down but is it a requirement to arrive “dressed/ready to dance” or is there a changing room? And do you drive with street shoes then change into your ballet slippers at the studio? I’m looking forward to your vlogs
@Werallgonnadie3 жыл бұрын
Great questions! You can arrive how ever. I have arrived ready to start dancing and other times I have pants and extra layers on so I have to change. There is a room to change and put ur stuff down in my current studio but there wasn’t in my other studio. And it’s also important to not wear you ballet studio shoes outside. So I arrive wearing regular shoes then I change to my ballet shoes right before class. Hope this helped! 💗

I used to do ballet and you always had to arrive in your uniform however you should wear Ugg boots over your ballet shoes so they don’t get wrecked

Keep strong. Dont forget that despite the struggles in this world, God is full of justice, mercy and love. Justice said we broke His perfect law - causing the world's previous perfection to be destroyed - and therefore we deserve Hell (like a punishment in any legal system but this is eternal as His perfect law is eternal too). Don't think you fit in that category? Ever done one of these?: lying, stealing - regardless of how small the object EVER, hating others - which is murder in God's perfect law, lusting (plus God sees our entire thought life). Justice says "the soul that sins shall die" - if we break one in thought/word/deed it's as if we're guilty of all of them. Quite simply, living by the law (which is doing everything perfectly) is impossible for sinful humans . The law shows us that 1. We will die in Hell if we fail to follow it and 2. We cannot save ourselves BUT, 3. God's perfect, immovable law points us to Christ, who followed and fulfilled the law in thought, word and deed perfectly in our place. He did what we couldn't and did it on our behalf. He was then sentenced to death on a cross, and took our personal punishment for our sin, paying our penalty (like paying our fine) completely FOR us, and has given us freedom. If we turn from the sins we have committed and repent (pursue the opposite direction of love through Christ) He will, overtime, recreate us back into that previously perfect image through The Holy Spirit which Jesus sends to all who accept Him as their personal Lord and Savior of their life. He will help us through the struggle, the stress, and anything we experience in the world. It's about letting Christ in to guide and teach you and obeying Him through His power (not ourselves, we need Him to help us as it's impossible without depending on His power and instruction). He is our substitute in His life, death and resurrection. He essentially rewrote history in our place so that, if you believe in Him, it will be as if you had never sinned if you accept Christ's death as our own in our place. He is in Heaven right now preparing a place for us so that He can take His faithful, believing children home with Him when He returns. He will ressurrect us from death when He returns, giving mercy to those who accept His love, instruction and teachings in their life, and give justice to those who refuse it. He doesn't want ANY of us to go to Hell and die for continuing in evil and rejecting His way to life, thats why He died FOR us. Hes giving EVERYONE a chance, He wants everyone to take the free gift of salvation from Hell. He wants us to be His and begin to follow His life of love and service through His power and abiding (staying) with Him. So long as we keep our hearts near to Christ through His strength, strive to follow His will of perfect love revealed in the Bible, and let Him lead in the midst of (very certain) pitfalls and struggles, we will, in time, win the ultimate victory over sin, pain and DEATH through Christ. Even if you are willing to be made willing, pray for Jesus to come in and He will do what we can't. Give us The Holy Spirit who will guide us in the right way. NOTE: You are NEVER too sinful or messed up that God cannot turn your life around through Jesus. EVER. Regardless of what you've done or what you're going through you CAN make it through Jesus. If you have any questions let me know
