Hello, this is Samyuktha. I've taken the SAT three times in a row, and I find myself perplexed and disheartened by the scoring algorithm. In the June SAT, my math score was 780, despite having all the blocks filled in my score report. However, in my latest attempt, things took a turn for the worse. With only one block incorrect, I experienced a deduction of 120 marks. I must express my frustration; it's challenging to accept these outcomes after putting in so much effort over these three attempts. The English section presents a similar situation. In the October SAT, I had five blocks wrong, resulting in a deduction of 170 marks. This December, with only three blocks incorrect, I still faced a deduction of around 140 marks. From this comparison, I estimate that each block corresponds to only 15-20 points. I would greatly appreciate it if you could provide insights into how the algorithm operates. Addressing and rectifying the numerous flaws in the digital SAT is crucial, particularly for international students like myself who are grappling with the challenges of the system. Thank you.
