Funny thing I am cyber geek most the positions require absurd quals but I find out most of these jobs dont even need a Bachelors or cert most this can be taught in 3 months and just security training and audits/creating strong security program. But the pay be awesome though....lol

One thing I would advise, and yes I know it's a bit more work but adding in notes of the different aspects of your day or whatever things you're mentioning in your bio. I see some tech channels with this and links to the points in the video or a time to those points and it's always refreshing. Yea, I know it's more work but sometimes we gotta do a bit more to move the needle

Hello hello! I know this video is a year old, but maybe I can still get a reply. I have been working as an IT Team Lead for Deskside for quite sometime and before that was a standard technician. I worked towards my Network+ but stopped after my management promotion. Now, with a baby on the way, I want to better financially and go back to my goal of going into Cloud Infrastructure. Although lately as I am only 23, I think becoming a Network Engineer would be a great step. My father is currently a Cloud Architect for Microsoft but has been a terrible communicator since I was little so I never hear from him. Anyways, looking through this video. Do you think using Udemy (which I get free courses through my current Employer) and self studying currently for my CCNA and CCNP is a good route to becoming a Network Engineer? What other certifications are good to enter into this current career path? Hope all is well! :) Your videos rock and love the personality! I currently work 100% remote as Deskside Manager, so good to hear that is a possibility to keep it that way!

I am trying to break in to the I.T. field and I will be going to school, either for 2 year associates degree or a certification. I have minimal, lower level data center experience (mainly hardware related). Would Network Engineer be a good choice? I am not really good at math and the thought of writing code seems beyond me. Not to minimize Network whatsoever. Thanks for making these videos.

Im a 19 year old computer technician finishing my degree in Computer Networking. I am currently studying for the CCNA. I am determined to pass it before I graduate and move to TX. I just love cisco equipment. I have yet to schedule the exam though. I still have my last 2 semesters of Netacad at college that I am going to use to practice before the exam. I'll be scared to take the test though honestly. It feels like alot of information. Im not necessarily a "noob" I have configured switches, routers, etc. I still always feel there is ALOT to learn. So my main focus these last couple months are studying for the CCNA. Really want it in the next 6 months before I job search in TX? You have any study tips or how you practiced the exam? I have been told to if I get it try for a noc position, or jr network admin or something similiar. I just want to hear some advice from you.
@certifiedcurls
@certifiedcurls 2 жыл бұрын
A NOC is a good start position because it could be the easiest to start out with with minimal experience. Network techs, network admins, are many other starting out titles. Just apply for anything asking for 5yrs or less experience and just apply. Highlight your extra work, side work helping others, big labs, projects, ect. What soft skills you have will help as well. a

If you have the opportunity, go for an entry-level IT help desk/technician job. It may not be glamorous nor high paying nor the job you want, but its better than nothing and definitely a start. See if your local school districts have any openings. Its a good way to get into the IT field. I see it this way: If you want to work in cyber security or networking, that's great. However, I feel it is important to have a good, solid IT foundation before getting into those fields as they aren't exactly entry-level.
