Why did I choose rice among the ingredients we usually eat?

I take one grain of rice, I cut it into very small pieces by estimating that it will fit in the mouth of the betta fish.
I only gave one slice, because I thought it was only to fill his stomach for a few hours before I got the food he liked.

Why?

Because in fact, rice is our food, not betta fish food. In addition, if we do not feed it because we are so forced for 1-2 days, the Betta fish will not die.
My experience in selling betta fish, betta fish when I sent them out of the island for days without eating and the fact that they didn't die just because they didn't eat that long.
