WOW . Now them are some proof sets . It's amazing that there are still very early proofs sets still out there most have been broke up into Singles like what ur about to do . Them cents are beautiful. Love the videos u gotta show what they grade .

Hi, Ben. The 1942-P silver nickel is a neat type coin. It is still today the only silver proof nickel. I love the proof Walkers and Mercs. That eight set holder is cool.

That '41 Walking Liberty is the "no AW" variety. I don't know why it's not in the Cherrypickers' Guide, but still a cool variety!

Mid-century modern proofs are some of the best potential "sleeper" coins IMHO. I'm a quarter guy but I'm blown away by how affordable a nice early proof is. Especially the 1936-42 short set. The mintages are absurdly low compared to even the later 50s. I think the absence of any cameo might turn some people off to them, but they're gorgeous coins!

I think the mid-century modern proofs are worth collecting/storing away for long term appreciation, especially as many of them are affordable. Seeing the 1950-52 proofs (Franklins) in high grades (67 and up) getting uber expensive. Strong demand for 1953 proof Franklins in PF-67 and up, too. Good luck with the grading for the 1950-51 sets and hope they come back high grade.

The early Franklins, especially the 1950, are prone to hairlines and rust stains due to the poor quality of the packaging used. The coins, which were in individual packets with the packets stapled together, would sometimes break out of the brittle cellophane and be damaged. In fact, I have a PR63 1950 Franklin half I bought from you. It's haze and spot free and the fields look great, but the heavy lines on the cheek dropped it all the way to a 63. But I wouldn't pay the high cost of a 65 or better anyhow.

Hi. I have some old proof sets from my great g mom. If I send some in for grading do I pop out the Franklin's and random good looking coins or should I send in the whole set in the original packaging?

I like each set in it's current original condition. So little money in the scheme of things, why not leave them as they are for the sake of history.
