I'm confused, I was going to buy some claves to hit some drums with (not only). Because I saw a concert of Moondog's works, and he designed his own instrument : the trimba, which is often played with clave and a maracas... The trimba is made of wood and skin, and i really like the sound (check 12 trimba solo for a video). So is it really destructive or a bad idea ? :)
