I would like to ask your advice to control my nervousness when I deliver a presentation. When I am talking in front of my colleagues and students I always freak out. The words don't sound how they should sound. I mixed all the words. I lost control of my speech and I forgot everything. I always screwed up my team the presentation. Please, give some good advice. I've watched your videos thousands of times and made notes, but nothing seems to work. Please, HELP ME.

Just a, question as a non-native English speaker with a low intermediate level of English. To conclude mt presentation, I said "and to finish ..." My English teacher told me not to use the phrase "To finish, I'd like to..." as, according to her, that was a terrible mistake. I just wanted to know to what extend that way to introduce a last point out of several mentioned before, is such terrible mistake. Thanks.

Hi there. Thank you for the question. I've never heard that to end a presentation with, "To finish, I'd like to.." is a mistake. In fact, it's quite similar to someone say, "To conclude, I'd like..." Could you tell me a bit more about this?

@@Speakconfidentenglish well, it might be important to point out that my teacher is a non-native one. That feedback was given to me when I was summarizing a newspaper article. I said that the article had three main points, the first one said that... The next one pointed out that... And to finish, it explained how to... She told me then that "to finish" was a terrible mistake, since native people would never say that. I could not understand why and she simply told me to use " to conclude" and never " to finish" . That's the reason why I wanted to know a native speaker's view just to find out how to do it better the next time. So, should I understand that it could be used and it woul not be such a terrible mistake? Thanks very much for your reply. I was really excited to have it.

I also want to add that my English teacher was excellent and I must thank her for her wonderful lessons. But this particular point (not to use to finish) brought in some confusion to me (if this can be said). 😅😅

That is correct. English speakers will use 'to finish' similar to they way they might with 'to conclude.' There is no error that I'm aware of in doing so.
