Great info. I have a question. If you care about ultimate quality and reliability...what would you recommend for the rough in plumbing of a 3-way walk in shower system (main rainshower head, 2 body jets, and a handheld slidebar showerhead)? I'm currently converting a tub shower into a walk-in. Got all the walls demoed, and the supply lines up from the floor are PVC, however the original shower also used copper, and I'm thinking of going with copper again. Should I use K, L, or M pipe? Should I even be using copper in the first place? Home is in Western FL, around the Sarasota county area. Thanks!

When I was a plumber I used type K Copper in the slab and type L Copper above the slab. Copper is a good material as long as it is installed correctly and does not make contact with dissimilar metals. I think copper is certainly the best to use to the kitchen, since it is less likely to carry potential toxic components of plastic pipe. Thanks for subscribing to Southern Stories
