All plumbing has a Service Life which can be effected by many factors. It will be a matter of time before you have a leak in your water supply system and this is why its important that every member of the house should know where and how to cut the water off.. I also recommend installing a secondary main Ball Valve cut off in addition to the valve at the Water Meter. Copper expands and contracts and this why you may hear some "Thumping" noise in your walls or ceilings. If you see a leak in the kitchen sink wall area, it may be due to a failed shock / water hammer absorber. Sometimes the kitchen sink is the highest fixture in the house, but this system could be in the laundry room area etc. I recommend type L copper be used for any installations or repairs and type K for slab installations. NOTE: There is a possibility that some copper pipes and fittings may not be of the highest quality copper. I have also had issues with some fittings not fitting properly, which can create a bad bonding issue. There should be some clearance around the fitting and the pipe, to allow the intake of soldier. Pipes need to be dry in order to make soldier connections. This can be a challenge in making plumbing repairs to this product. You may want to consider "Shark-Bite" fittings for temporary repairs. They are expensive, but work fairly well. Thanks for taking the time to watch this video and also check out the others on this channel. "Knowledge Is Savings" By: South Alabama Home Inspections.
