Super grateful I didn’t get robbed! 😅Some of my friends I met there have lived there for like 3+ years and never had any problems. But I feel like it’s the luck of the draw for who gets robbed there at times. I just really tried to not put myself in any positions to get taken advantage of

@@MaliaBryant The people you are interacting with are most likely working remote and live in an upscale area. Nobody knows who they are, so they are unlikely to have problems. But when you are involved in the city. People will start to know who you are and that invites people who wanna rob you. I personally went through that learning lesson as I thought everything was fine and I got too cocky. But then my reputation started getting higher and people started to target me. I had to handle it accordingly. After a couple of incidents people stopped bothering me. When I was first robbed, I told the people I lived with in my barrio and they responded saying they have all been robbed and I was with a group of 6 or 7 people. You have to remember the cartel protects tourists and I have seen tourists make the dumbest mistakes. Way dumber then the mistakes I've made and they are fine because nobody knows them so they just consider them clueless tourists and are nice about it. As they are very hospital in Colombia and that's a thing that makes it so great there. Thats one thing that makes it special compared to other countries. Long reply, but I type fast.

@@markosweissinger oh wow I’m sorry all of that happened to you! I definitely understand what you’re saying about how life is different between tourists and the locals that live there. I always try to immerse myself in different cultures when I travel so I did get to know some locals there and I also heard their experiences too and not just the digital nomad type people. But my videos are mostly just tips for people that are trying to travel so I just try to share from my own experiences and advice that others have given me. I’m just glad I didn’t get robbed and I had an amazing experience! 😊
