Thanks for the detailed description with no crazy transitions, no ads and no garbage

Thanks for the comment, sometimes i wonder if the fact we cut out doing the entertaining schtick stuff (animations, fancy thumbnails, transitions, intro/outtro) it hurts our channels views, but it really just wastes a lot of time and adds little value other than flash.

Yes, this device will accept 2.5" and 3.5" drives.Orico also makes a smaller NAS that only accepts 2.5" drives for a smaller footprint option.

Automatic backup? Or we need to backup our stuff manually?

Dont backup your data on a device without RAID. You have 100% chance to lose your data

Great question! Yes, there is an "Auto Backup Album" app inside the WeLine app.

can it work on pc via ethernet? having a thought on buying this as an alternative to synology,.
@PC_Phil4 ай бұрын
Great question! Yes, you can access the NAS from a PC via ethernet. You just need to install the proprietary WeLine.IO software on the PC and log into the device with your credentials.

can i connect tapo ip camera's to it ?
@PC_Phil4 ай бұрын
Great question! Unfortunately, this NAS is not capable of supporting TAPO cameras which use a RTSP protocol. My recommendation would be to download the content to the device you are viewing the footage from and then upload it to the NAS for safe keeping and sharing the with others who have access to the Orico MetaBox.

I did the first boot with a new 8tb seagate ironwolf hard drive, it's been 12 hours and it still hasn't formatted, how do I fix this?
@dragonblogger2 ай бұрын
I passed your question to ORICO and here is what they said: we need to know see how the formatting hard drive in the APP is prompted, and what the indicator light status is. please contact their customer service department which handles after-sales issues at supports@orico.com.cn

I have been getting red light on my metabox mini and can't connect to my node. Is there a way to fix this? and how to I reset to factory settings my metabox? thank you
@mathieubulard71045 ай бұрын
si vous est en ip fixe cest normal il faut être en dhcp je recommande au pire réinitialisé le le orico derrire avec une aiguille ou une trombone
@PC_PhilАй бұрын
Great question! You can factory reset the MetaBox by "longpressing (10 seconds) the reset button (Reset) on the back of the device. This operation will reset the network settings set by the user, but will not affect the user's storage to data on the hard disk." (quoted from the user manual)

I have bought an this for the 2.5 inch SDD version. It's pretty slow, like 60kbps on writing to the harddisk. Viewing the file is ok but writing to the disk is pretty slow. I'm transfering 20+ gig files its taking hours, 20 hours most likely until it's finished. Do you have this problem too?
@PC_Phil5 ай бұрын
Hello and thanks for the question. My question to you is are you connected to the same network when doing the transfer or are you connected from a remote location via VPN? I have not had any transfer speed issues.
@randychan5835 ай бұрын
when I use samba(local transfer) it reaches 800kbps. If i use synchronization(cloud storage) its just 200kbps. I think I'm contented with it now: I'll just use USB to transfer files if incase the files are too big to transfer. I'm just curious how fast your writing speed on yours. I bought mine for $60 and I'm not sure if its worth the money.
@PC_Phil5 ай бұрын
@@randychan583 I just tested mine and I was able to transfer 850MB in less than 20 seconds at 40MB/s. What make and model SSD did you install and what kind of network connection are you using? I am connected to the NAS with a gigabit switch.
@randychan5835 ай бұрын
@@PC_Phil I'm using Samsung EVO as SSD and using a globe fiber DSL router. That's the write speed to the disk? 40MB/s?
@PC_Phil5 ай бұрын
@@randychan583 I have a feeling your DSL router is most likely the source of your slow transfer rate. DSL modems are very slow compared to cable or FiOS modems. The transfer rate I was getting from my PC through the switch to the NAS was averaging 40MB/s.
