Beautifully done video, Richard, as always!! Nicely blended with the music too. I always love seeing your hawk footage! Well, the snow is well and truly with us now 🙂 I hope that berry tree works out for you. Cheers, Phil

Thanks Phil, Glad you enjoyed it and the flow of music and video, not all people enjoy music to the videos and sometimes I like to just use natural sounds, depends on the mood and setting I think. Appreciate the feedback. Fingers crossed it does my friend. R👍

Speaking of white pines days ago, those thin field trails you were on look like they might have maybe been used to plant white pines 4 or 5 years ago! Someone really knew what they were doing though with random non-rowed planting with giant spacing! It's long-term ideal for a sun loving pine that can go 140ft up with a horizontal reach of 50ft Just give them another 60-70 years and boom! Beautiful

20 below temp. Just a tad too cold for me Richard, but watching your vlogs Canada certainly makes up with it in a diverse species list. Learnt something new today about red squirrel's prompted by your video, didn't know they were a new world species - there's ignorance for you ! I Sorry I know it's a bit of a nostalgic thing but to me sporting the 1DX and prime lens it just shouts " Pro. Wildlife photographer - the real DB'S " !!! Once again love to keep in touch with what your doing over there, keep em coming. 👍
@RichardBirchett8 күн бұрын
Hey Glenn, Yeah it's not an easy temp to work in but for the images it really does give some nice impact. They are lovely squirrels and not the same as ours in the UK, they lack the ear tufts here but still a lovely mammal to photograph. Yeah, I'm guessing that it shouts that, but not all Prime users are Pro's and the kit doesn't make you a good photographer, the person behind the lens does. Thanks again for watching, have a great week. All the best Rich👍

I wanted to ask what model of gimbal head this is? It's not likely to be listed under this video as it's not the Wimberly model. It looks very compact. I wonder how it performs with heavy lenses like the Canon 400mm f/2.8, or the Canon 500mm f/4?
@RichardBirchett8 күн бұрын
Hi there, thanks for watching my latest video. It's a Fotopro Eagle series Gimbal Head E-7HS, much lighter weight than the Wimberly head which I have. It supports weight up to 20kgs and in the video it supports the 1DX MK III and a 500mm F4 prime and does the job well. I did a review on it below. kzbin.info/www/bejne/iWG3eWR7pcyrnrssi=ItdyxSxM9RoVUCSJ Thanks Rich

@@RichardBirchett Thank you for the comprehensive information and the link. I am now using a Canon R3 with 400mm f/2.8 and 500mm f/4.0 lenses o both version one. Heavy, but I can see that the head should work well.

I've gotten to the point where I just started leaving the tripod at home. Kept taking it without using it. The one time I setup with a tripod at a wildlife management area, an entire field trip of school kids showed up and scared everything off. Since then I've been on a mission to reduce weight and stay mobile.

Makes sense Mike, shooting video for KZbin and in 4K 30/60 usually requires a tripod support so a must for me there. Yeah, nightmare when loads of people turn up, hence why I like being where people are not, lol.. Cheers Rich 👍
