Very cool. As someone who has been flying the UEES Endeavor in-game for some time, CIG seems to be quite happy to let us have the prefix. That said, I expect they would be less happy if we were not also planning to RP UEE in the 'Verse.

I called my Carrack the croshaw after the explorer who found the first jump gate. Thought was apt as it's an exploration vessel
@JaleXelJela2 жыл бұрын
Very apt - and I would say you were probably quite lucky to bag the name!

Very cool. Most of my ships are smaller and non-military, but still cool. Here's a few I thought of watching the video ... Pegasus >> Unicorn Bengal >> Rakshasa (more mythological than cat, but still a damned cool name) Retribution >> Even if it is a shameless MCU plug ... have to go Avenger
@JaleXelJela2 жыл бұрын
Excellent choices. I think you can get away with Rakshasha!

"In its most developed form, the carrack was a carvel-built ocean-going ship: large enough to be stable in heavy seas, and capacious enough to carry a large cargo and the provisions needed for very long voyages. The later carracks were square-rigged on the foremast and mainmast and lateen-rigged on the mizzenmast." A type of ocean going sailing vessel destined for deep sea long distance voyages - exploration. Appropriate names for a Carrack - Beagle, Golden Hind, Endurance, Kainan Maru, Terra Nova.

Mine is ObamaCare since currently I use as makeshift hospital ship. Perhaps once the Endeavor or Galaxy come out I'll retire it for Carrack if those two are nameable. Hopefully CIG doesn't sweep shipnaming under the rug between now and 1.0

Great information. I have names ready to place on my Nomad and Aurora (MR and CL) when the time arrives!

Very cool! Love the vid. I've been working on my character's Lore/RP and been going through a number of iterations of how the UEE Marines would organize themselves and name their units based on the size of the UEE systems and surrounding systems as my character is a former UEE Marine Recon. Been pretty interesting exercise to find number and naming conventions that make sense.

There's frustratingly little information about the Marines and the Army compared to the Navy. There's suggestion (though perhaps from leaks) that Pegasus' are their main big ship, in a similar fashion to the modern day Wasp-class. The most notable odd thing about them is that unlike most nations marines, which developed as part of the Naval force, the units that were organised into the marines were previously part of the Army. The UNE and UPE didn't have Marines before the first tevarin war. I don't know if that would tell you much about their organisation, though

@@JaleXelJela Awesome, thanks for the info! Yeah, very little info about ships, battalions, companies and chalks, etc. Also, it is a little weird that, as you said, the Marines developed from the Army [?!] and have their own ships but also, are stationed on Naval ships [which makes more sense]. Anyways; keep up the great work!

Interesting thing for your character backstory, recall that in the original pitch sales info for the Endeavor, the Hope *was a UEE troop ship* not just a hospital. Also real world, most specialist units have a designation, which tends to be very dull, and a local name / patch that can be very memorable. The latter typically has no pattern, other than 'we thought it was cool'. I know Army designations sometimes get super logical, so 3B20 would be 3 Battalion, Bravo Company, 2nd Platoon, HQ element, 3B21 would be Section 1 etc; the great unknown is the lore of UEE Marines based on UK or US?

Can we get one for civilian ships? I've been looking for aaages. (I'm also not all the way through the vid so thanks in advance if you answer here)
@JaleXelJela2 жыл бұрын
I think it would be an interesting one to do. I have done some work cataloguing them but it's an overall harder task. I can at least do a cross-section and maybe talk about serial numbers more.

That gives me a lot of fun ideas. A bangle carrier that goes by the name of tabby or Garfield would be fun.

I would definitely go for as many cute and adorable names going along with the naming convention. So when the enemy sees my fleet they won’t take it seriously and then promptly get annihilated.

I would need three Bengal one for military one for search and rescue HQ and one for industrial HQ, being American obviously I'm naming the industrial HQ Bobcat or just Cat and naming the Orion Bobcat lol.

I like using ironic names considering the ships purpose. My Corsair is Negotiator and Perseus is Bureaucracy (planned that is since the ships aren't in yet).

@JaleXelJela2 жыл бұрын
You could...though they do have a rule against naming after real people, so in theory they could enforce against it! Whereas naming it the Christopher Blair might win you some points with Chris Roberts, and definitely will win points with Ben Lesnick.

I named my carrack HNLMS Kitty Hawk HNLMS is my country designation for it's ships. (Her dutch magesties ship) ((had to lol kitty hawk was taken rip)) And Kitty Hawk, after the place humanity first took to the skies and began exploring what layed beyond.

Great lore content and probably very much work. Tough I would not consider Achilles a culture hero. Herakles and Perseus are a bit more "culture-heroy". And CIG and we will run out of names for Idrises very soon if we name them only after UEE Star systems.

So for a carrack a lore friendly name would be S-17703?
