This a great way to get ready for a trip. I do a very similar thing with the exception of the cluster outfits. I do the 3x3x3 method. Which should give you about 21 outfits. 3 tops, 3 bottoms and 3 layering pieces. They all need to coordinate. Recently I was gone for 24 days with temps ranging from the mid 30’s to the high 70’s. I packed two sets of 3x3x3. Merino wool is a game changer for packing.

Another helpful and wonderful video by Nada. I suppose my outliers would be golf, gym, walking clothes and then fill in the blanks with beachwear and nighttime wear.

I used a similar method on a recent trip to Europe, and also one within the states. Since I’ve moved towards more of a capsule wardrobe, it indeed makes packing so much easier when almost everything mixes and matches.

Love this system! So logical and practical. I would be curious what you would take on a beach trip. Beachwear and coverup for everyday and regular clothes for time on land. You should be an expert on this Nada Manley since you live in FL.

Good morning from Auburn Alabama I’m packing for a weekend of meetings right now 😂

We'll be traveling out of state for Thanksgiving and will be spending a week with a family member. The problem is, there's no "itinerary", we're just going to play each day by ear. That said, I'm going to have to pack for different potential scenarios! ❤

For a trip like this, which is similar to when we go visit my husband's family, I pack a casual cluster. :) Plus a sporty and a dressy outfit.

I overpacked on my last trip, solely because I did a lot of shopping and was wearing all of my new clothing. 😆 I’ve been capsule packing for several years and generally do not come home with anything that wasn’t worn. Even with that, I still check a bag 80% of the time. (most of our trips are 12-16 days) I want the extra room for my purchases, especially when we go to Europe.

Another excellent video Nada! I love your packing technique it's game changing!!!...........(we holiday here in the UK) I'm not saying that I'm an over packer but .... and we are in the process of getting a bigger car....mainly for holidays🤣🤣🤣(and shopping of course!)....In my defence we do take our 2 Mini Schnauzers and they have to have their cases too🐺🐺💼💼🤣

Questions: what about possible weather such as cold or rain? What about cold one place and hot in another?
@susanalexander79903 ай бұрын
Yes! Weather is critical!

I had a varying climate trip not too long ago. I packed matching pieces that could be layered for warmth, but still looked good in outfits when layers are not required. It worked great! The paper thin long sleeved cashmere undershirts or regular weight tees/tanks are great for cold weather layering under sweaters and shirts.

We were in the UK and Italy last week and I used sticks for as many things as possible. Stick foundation, lipstick pencils, Laura Mercier caviar sticks for eye makeup, stick blush/bronzer. That way they aren’t required to be in the TSA liquids bag. I also depotted skin care to tiny containers (it’s amazing how little you need even for weeks). Happy travels!

I have photos of my purchases on the phone. If I don’t (old items before I started saving product photos), I’d take a pic to be put into category folders. When I pack I create a new folder to put what I want to bring into the folder. I would edit often to remove pics (pack light travel better). I will be leaving overseas next month for 6 weeks. I only bring two carry on size suitcases (a backpack and a roller). After the trip I would remove the photos of items I used. I can then remember why I didn’t use the items I brought so that I wouldn’t overpack next time. Anything without photos I write down on phone notes like tea bags hiking staff bandana medicine utensils toiletry makeup ids money etc.. I erase each item the night before after I put them into luggage. I hardly ever left anything I needed after I left for trips because of this packing method.

Susan again. The meetings are casual attire. Much easier to coordinate
