You can bring one if you want. Disney does provide life vests on the ship and at Castaway Cay. For our first cruise we brought my son’s puddle jumper.

Hand wipes/hand sanitizer is a must for me also a small flashlight that I hang on the inside of the bathroom door, then I don’t have to turn on the bright light in the middle of the night. Ziplock bags are also a must for me. I use them on the airplane until the flight attendants come to collect the trash for example, etc. I love your suggestion about the dish soap sponge, that’s going in my suitcase on my next Disney Cruise.

I'm 15 days away from my 6th Disney cruise, and some tips I want to share are: • Bring a pirate costume for pirate night. It may sound childish and like a waste of space, but when you dress up on that magical night, you not only feel like a kid, but you are going to have a fun time and enjoy your stay even more. • When packing, don't feel the need to take up all of the room in your suitcase. Trust me, even if you're like 'I paid so much money for this cruise, and the trip will be more than enough for memories' chances are that you will find something and end up buying it. YOU NEED A WAY TO GET IT HOME!!! • When it comes to daily clothes, you don't really need to pack an outfit per day. Chances are that you're going to be in your bathing suit at the pool most of the day, and then get dressed for dinner. You're not really gonna wear your regular clothes that long and they won't get dirty, so you can wear them again. • The second you get to go into your stateroom put all of your electronics and valuable stuff in the safe. Trust me when I say "You won't need them!" The room provides you with 2 phones so that you can communicate with everyone else on the ship. Secondly, in all of the picture spots there will be castmembers to take your pictures, and you can get those pictures at the end of the cruise. Lastly, TO HAVE FUN!!! You came on this cruise for a nice relaxing vacation, not to spend hours on your phone.

+Jenn Hedrick hmm. For me I like to pack some sundresses. Then I'll bring a cardigan or 2 to throw on top. I'm always freezing in the dining rooms. You'll probably have a formal night on a 7 night cruise so I'd bring something a little extra special for that night too. 😉

This year we go on our second and I'm updating my list to add a wave phone and key to the World case for us. We found each of us having our own wave phone (especially while the kids are in the clubs) was very useful.

Disney has free life vests available on the ship and at castaway cay. We brought a puddle jumper on our first cruise but not after that. Unless you’re doing excursions you don’t really need one.

I loved this, it was very helpful. I'm extremely excited, we sail in 2 weeks! However, I could think of a use for over the door shoe rack, that had less to do with being organized and more to do with the small counters in the bathroom. For a family of 4 like mine (with 2 adults with a lot of stuff and makeup) I think it would be helpful to have some where to put things like toothbrushes, toothpaste, lotion, wash, shampoo and sunscreen and so the tiny bathroom isn't cluttered and stuff is in easy reach.

I live in Kentucky and we are driving to Florida 2 days before the cruise and we had our passports because we are sailing in the Bahamas and we get to set fireworks off well not us but people who work there because our ship takes off the 4th of July can’t wait

Great video and information. Things to add to your next video: Don't bring nonessentials: all Disney cruises have shampoo, conditioner, gel soap, and body lotion in the bathrooms and restocked as you need them. Also: towels for the swimming pool and beach activities are available on deck and when you get ready to go ashore. If you have a veranda attached to your cabin, bring binoculars to look at other ships passing by or the land as you get closer. If you're with your family in one cabin, bring small flash lights to use if you need to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. Don't turn on the lights and wake everyone up. The queen size bed is raised up so you can store your luggage underneath it and keep the room clear. All the ships have a clothes line in the shower/bathroom for wet bathing suits. Bring an envelope ( or something) to put all the receipts you acquire during your time shopping on the ship. Write the spender's name on the receipt and put them in one spot. It's easier to check your final bill if you have everything in one place ( and who spent the most).

+Rosie Rivera It's personal preference. When you're on board you can just use your key to the world card. It functions as your room key and you can link a form of payment to it. If you use credit you can link it ahead of time when you do your online check in. If you use cash, you're limited to a $300 a day spending limit (unless you prepay).

This was taken from the Prohibited Items section of the FAQ's from the Disney Cruise Line website: To ensure an enjoyable cruise experience for all our Guests, we ask that you take note of the following guidelines for decorating your stateroom door. We thank you for your understanding and cooperation. You are welcome to place magnetic signs on your stateroom door. Though, please note that Concierge staterooms on the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy have wooden doors. You may not affix items to your stateroom doors using tape or any adhesive, including removable gel adhesives, as this can damage the doors’ finish. Also, using over-the-door hanging organizers is prohibited, as they can scratch and/or disfigure stateroom doors and trim.
