Great video. Having done the Alaskan cruise twice, I think a lightweight but warm scarf is essential. It will warm you up without adding bulk. It's in the 50s most of the time in port and only about freezing on the water, so I never used my winter coat or winter boots, just a raincoat and sneakers. The ship will provide blankets to drape over your knees on deck. For sleeping, if you feel the cold bring a polar fleece nightshirt.
@MissCrystal7 жыл бұрын
+Lori Loeb I actually had a scarf but only wore it when getting on the ship. I thought those that like wearing them would naturally think to bring one. Our cruise line did offer blankets on deck but not sure if other lines do. We cruised with Princess.

We went on a Royal Caribbean cruise to Alaska last year the first week of June and it was in the 70s and sunny! There were only mosquitos up at Denali after the cruise. Good list though in general.

From what I've heard from others that have traveled there many times, the weather changes daily. Could be 50's one day and 70's the next. That's why it's a good idea to be ready for everything.

Crystal, Thanks so much for this video. A wealth of information! We are cruising from Seattle to Alaska this August for our 1st Alaskan cruise and it totally helped to see what you packed and actually wore. I do however have one question? What did you all pack and wear for dinners? We are cruising on the Royal Princess and I know there will be 2 Formal nights and the 5 other nights are smart casual usually, at least on Caribbean Cruises. Any insight for dinner attire would be so appreciated. Much Love, Donna

Hi!! My family and I are going on an Alaska cruise in June so in a couple of days lol. I’m panicking a little because I’m from Oklahoma and I thought it was gonna be warm since it’s in June right? Well I guess I’m wrong😬😬 we leave in a few days and I definitely need to do some last minute shopping. So just to double check I’ll definitely need: Raincoat Puffer jacket Sweatshirt Sweatpants Jeans Cardigans Long sleeve shirts Rain boots, thick socks Tennis shoes Scarf, rain gloves, hat I’m seeing temperatures like 64 degrees Fahrenheit but I’m assuming it’s gonna feel colder? I’m all over the place😂sorry I just need help!!!!!
@MissCrystal5 жыл бұрын
Hi, Alaska is definitely something to plan for in advance. I'd say you can get most of these things anytime except for the puffer jacket. That's not totally necessary, just what I brought and loved. Just think layers. I've known people say it's hot and sunny and then there's our trip that was colder. Alaska weather is up and down like that from day to day. I would rather have these things and be prepared/not cold. Enjoy your cruise!

I understand the need for layering. But, my concern is what do we do with things when needed to be pulled off and your on a excursion or something. Do you just carry everything? Carry a backpack? Bc I read some don't allow bags. And I have a family of 4 ... so I picturing me carrying everyone's things they pull off plus my camera/ things I'll need. Any suggestions welcomed 👩🔧
@MissCrystal5 жыл бұрын
I've never been on an excursion that didn't allow for some sort of bag. Not sure about all of course. But yes, everyone should be able to carry their own jacket, shirt, whatever. No need to hand it all off. If light layers, tying around the waist always works. :)

You can find all of my cruise outfits in a playlist on my main channel page. I also briefly spoke about it in this Blog Post: www.misscrystalblog.com/2021/06/what-to-pack-for-an-alaska-cruise-what-i-wore.html Alaska is more casual overall but you will still see people dressed up for formal night. Hi, I've never heard of a cruise not having formal nights. We also cruise with Princess a lot. There were 2 formal nights on our cruise and people did dress up as normal. The rest of the nights were more casual than any other cruise we've been on (over 20). So I'd double check with the cruise line or just decide to skip it and eat in the buffet or pizza restaurant, which is good. We've been on Royal once and Regal twice. Enjoy your cruise!
