My boys are 7,5,3 and we have been nature journaling for almost 3 years now as a family. The way it works for us is we remind the kids while on our adventures or in the yard to see if they find anything’s cool, interesting or out of the ordinary, anything they want to remember next year or to tell their friends about. When we come back home or while on our deck we all draw whatever it was that caught our attention. Sometimes we all have the same interest and other times it’s all different subjects. Sometimes we tape or glue things into our books. Then I help the kids with anything they want written down, any details they were u able to draw but want to describe. I do the writing for them and add the date. We have been enjoying it for so long now that I don’t even have to ask them to make entries, they just do it on their own even if they just see something out the window. One of the ways we got them excited to start was by letting them pick whatever fabric they wanted to have their books covered in. So they each have their own unique journal.
