I have been considering this resort, but the beach looks awful. Super small and narrow. Is there more to it than i am seeing? Or is it just not a great beach area but a great resort otherwise?

Can you snorkel from the beach here, or do you have to take an excursion?

The beach is not great for snorkeling. I have some great local companies I use for snorkeling in the area though. I would advise you approach snorkeling with caution as not all tours are created equal.
