That clay ball technique is amazing. I would have never thought of that. Also so sad we cant find those air dry clay here in Slovakia.

You can make something called Cold porcelain. Which is an air drying material that is clay like. Another option is paper clay. Both of these you can find on youtube and are very diy friendly.

@@zazzenfuk yep !! i find cold porcelain quite easy to make but its harder to work with than la doll TvT its very fluffy and works for easy projects

Hey not sure if i missed it because if my cats but do you have a way to get the reference sheet you use in the video The one you compare proportions to? Also this video is so so appreciated! You have a nice voice and you're so thorough in your explanation!

Hey! I drew it myself and it’s available as a printable in my BJD sculpting masterclass - a nice perk. Unfortunately, I don’t provide it separately, but I’m sure you can find something similar online. Just search for BJD blueprint. ☺️

Hii! Thank you for your videos they are very useful. I'm thinking about starting my first bjd doll but I'm not sure how much clay I need. How much clay do you use for a doll?
@Nymphaidolls11 ай бұрын
About one pack of La Doll. But to be safe I’d get two packs to allow yourself some room for mistakes. ☺️

How strong is this clay you recommend? I was going to go for polymer clay but now I'm not sure. Everyone says air dry clay is a no-go because it crumbles eventually. I want a doll I can sculpt and be done with. I don't want to cast or anything like that so I'm curious which one would be stronger clay to use?
@Nymphaidolls Жыл бұрын
Polymer clay will probably be stronger. But if you use primer, like Mr.Surfacer, I’d say it’s similar. Polymer clay is brittle too, especially small details like the fingers. So at the end it’s just preference. I find it easier to work with La Doll, you can resculpt the same areas as many times as you need. Ultimately, you won’t avoid some brittleness around the joints and small details unless you cast your doll in some other material.

Hello! your bjds are so gorgeous you are very talented and as someone who wants to get into making bjds Is wet sanding a viable option for smoothing out dolls? I heard it is safer than dry sanding because it causes less debris intake
@Nymphaidolls Жыл бұрын
If you sculpt with air-dry clay then wet sanding is not a very good option. Air-dry clay is water soluble and wet sanding will ruin your sculpture. But I use wet sanding for bisque fired porcelain pieces.

Is this type of soil resistant to water?
@firstlast-sq2gc6 ай бұрын
this clay readily accepts water which is good when sculpting, but it may cause the final piece to melt in contact with water or excessive moisture. Finish your piece with a primer like Mr Surface before any wetting

hi!! What's the difference between the three kinds of clay you mentioned? I don't know which one to order because I'm a beginner so I was wondering which one you recommend.
@Nymphaidolls Жыл бұрын
They are very similar, so it’s just a personal preference. If you want a more in depth review, I have articles on my Adelepo blog about these clays. Currently I like La Doll Premix the best. But get what’s available to you.

What are the differences between la doll, la doll premix, and premier?
@NymphaidollsАй бұрын
They are very similar. Premix is a mixture of La Doll (pink packaging) and Premier. It was created by a doll artist! I like the Premix (blue packaging) the best. It’s smooth, lightweight and doesn’t have a lot of paper pulp. Other variations are very similar, La Doll in pink packaging is a little bit rougher, not as white. Premier has the smoothest texture, but the clay itself is better for sculpting details and not the whole doll in my opinion, and it comes in a smaller package.
