Hi Sam, I'm having condensation issues inside my walk-in closet. Build 1930, it caused mold. I smelled a bad smell on and off for over 15 year but never saw anything until now. The remediators cut out closet wall and said they saw nothing. Mold is under the house in the crawlspace. The mold in my closet was cleaned off wall before I contacted this company. When my walls were tested I was told it was from condensation. There is no insulation inside walls. I remember in my wash room I had salts on my wall from a leak that we did not know was there until the paint kept peeling. Opened plaster wall in 1999 found hot water heater pipe that was left in wall after removal and capped pipe in wall was slowly leaking. My closet is on the opposite side of the home. Can I put moisture barriers drywall with no insulation back in walk-in closet. I took the closet doors off because I was told the closet needs air circulation.

I have a dehumidifier for drying clothes 160w an hour of power running for 10hrs will use 1.6kw costs around 55p to run for 10hrs but we only use it in the room we dry clothes have no condensation issues no build up of moisture and strong extractor fan in bathroom right above shower. 1960s build. Also leaving your heating off doesn't help best to keep your house at constant temp 16 degrees or above

Ay up Sam I’ve a rental property that paint is constantly flaking dusting off. I’ve tryed all the makes of paint and sealer . I’m going to try the drywall system and take it back to brick and instastik and acrylic the boards. Do I treat with salt neutraliser and a DPM every place this is happening. Thanks

Hi Sam, what's your views on plastering today? think its still worth it, as in making money? I rarely get any rendering or damp proofing jobs these days, mainly just boarding, bonding and skimming typical stuff. done a bit of venetian plastering as well. but really want to start making some really good money, what do you recommend?

You need to invest in yourself and get in to something with demand, a shortage of qualified technicians and more work and demand coming in the next 30 years. That’s the preservation industry
