Read below and let us know what type of pool plaster you would pick! 🤓🦩✨
Pool Nerd is back with some info about the common types of pool plaster!
- Traditional Marcite Plaster is a mix of calcium carbonate, sand, and cement. When it’s applied, it’s troweled until the cream rises to the surface. That cream hardens and creates the plaster shell that you know as the surface of the pool. This is the cheaper option and lasts about 10 years with proper pool maintenance. One thing we love about using white marcite plaster is that the white surface will take on the color of color changing pool lights really well. That means you can change the color of your pool very dramatically with the tap of a button.
- Pebble Plaster is made up mostly of tiny pebbles, cement, and color additives. With proper care, pebble finish should last 20 to 25 years! We prefer to use mini pebble because it is a little more gentle on the skin. You can still have the fun effects with color changing pool lights, but it won’t be as dramatic as traditional plaster.
