This was a well-done explanatory video of the steps to resurface the pool. What brought me to dig into this video was to get information on how to do it. I live in Florida and when we purchased our home the pool was in really bad condition. As I was cleaning it one day I felt a soft spot under and to my surprise there was a hole where then one more and more and so the in the walls the plaster was coming off. I don't have money to pay a company but I consider myself very handy and have the time to do it. I might will bather you when getting in there with a couple questions if you don't mind. Thank you so much and I look forward to checking out more videos on your channel.

I am wondering why did they acid wash it at the end after plaster was done? What was the point of that on brand new plaster as the acid does eat up the plaster. Maybe there is an explanation I’m not aware of.
@TomLeeman3 ай бұрын
Acid washing a pool, even after applying a diamond brite or similar finish, is typically done to remove surface stains, dirt, or mineral deposits that might appear after the finish is applied. Here’s why it might happen: 1. Surface Cleaning: After applying a new finish like Diamond Brite, some residue, dust, or spots may remain on the surface. Acid washing helps clean off this residue and ensures the surface looks uniform and smooth. 2. Etching: A light acid wash can etch the surface slightly, improving the overall appearance by eliminating imperfections or haze that could appear after the pool finish cures. 3. Mineral Stains: Sometimes, even new surfaces can develop minor mineral stains (from water or construction dust). Acid washing helps remove these stains. Acid washing is done carefully so it doesn’t damage the new finish, using diluted acid solutions to clean without causing harm.

Hitting the aggregate with a pressure washer takes off most of the dust that covers the aggregate, once you acid wash it it will make the aggregate pop a little more. Once the pool is filled you brush everyday for 30 days and that will help take off even more of that dust layer from the finish. Keeping the pool acidic during the curing process will help as well.

The only problem is, he dropped a big giant ash and it turned the area gray. Now I have a spot on my son step.

I do this for a living and have never pressure washed the interior of a pool, we always give it an acid wash and rinse it down. Obviously we take care of delaminations

Muriatic acid and a scrub brush. Only time I pressure washed a pool was after a hurricane. There were crabs and fish in there and shit I don't want to kmow about.

I purchased the tile separately. It cost me 1500 and then the job was 7500 so all total about nine grand but they made some mistakes and wouldn’t come back and fix it so you can get what you pay for.

That was a low price for the work.

For a point of reference, can anyone give me their best estimate of how much this job would cost today?

How much should something like this cost? I have gotten a couple quotes and compared to the some from last year they are easily 10,000 added to the old price.
@TomLeeman2 жыл бұрын
It was about 7000+1500 for the tile
@totallynottrademarked52792 жыл бұрын
@@TomLeeman Thanks for the response. I am getting quotes for $17,000 for similar work in about the same size pool. When just last year they quoted around what you just said.

@@islandwayaustin Yeah. Crazy. Some light paver work around one of the drains where ants undermined them. Other than that it is just resurfacing.

Some company here in San Antonio quoted me 18k similar size but in quote it was 11k in labor cost
