Islam is not like khabib. Islams striking is actually good, khabib was v v basic. Their grappling styles are also v different. When have you seen islam do anything similar to what khabib did to MJ or Barboza?
@saifaldin_7 күн бұрын
Their grappling styles are different. If you watch the way Makhachev fought prior to, and very early in his UFC career, he was using a very similar style to Khabib (double/ single leg takedowns from outside, wrapping the opponent’s legs and g&p). For whatever reason, Makhachev didn’t have the same amount of control as Khabib did, and even when it worked, it would sap his energy faster. It might be because of physiological differences, or because he was younger. Over time, we see how Makhachev has evolved his grappling to be a bit different - less chain wrestling, more clinches and favouring advancing positions as opposed to total control. Makhachev would flow more, and allow opponents to change positions so that he can find openings for submissions. He likes solving puzzles.. going ‘let’s see what you have for me’. Whereas Khabib would just go ‘no, we will play my game, and nothing else’. A big part of that comes from their personalities.

Khabib has really good striking, it is just that he doesn't use it much as he doesn't want to really damage his opponents. He is like the polar opposite of justin gaethje

It’s called strategy… Islam could wrestle, and grapple in an aggressive manner if he wanted to.

The ground game is going to be very competitive … i will give Islam the edge standing up… which he will get the job done maybe with sneaky kick. If not, it’s going to the cards.

Yeah u the type to say Volk won the first one, when in reality he only had one round over Islam
@KagisoTembane4 күн бұрын
@ShantinooO I actually don't think Volk won it did look close but if you don't finish a champion you probably won't win

Not really. Islam still have the wrestling advantage, and is more compose on the feet as well, his thai clinch is very strong

Arman has the physical ability, speed and drive; but judging from his recent fights, he still lacks game planning and strategy compared to Makhachev.
